GD escape plan

So, let asssume that some day we'll come here and the whole board (or maybe just the community section) will be nuked because AOL doesn't want to pay for the bandwidth anymore.

Rather than just cutting ties with everyone, we could make a mass exodus somewhere else.

If so, where would that be...
(let's decide as a community)

pabook.net

mysterious_w 23rd December 2004 16:26

deeder7001 23rd December 2004 16:33

i think it is.

squall14716 23rd December 2004 16:45

Escape?

If you see a flash, just duck and cover!

jerimiah40 23rd December 2004 17:29

umm, where is this place?

Psythik 23rd December 2004 17:30

I've never been so active in any forum other than here, so the idea of shutting down Forums.Winamp makes me cringe. :igor: Anyhow, I guess PabUK will have to do considering that a lot of people here talk about it and seem to like it.

Google. Heard of it?

Bilbo Baggins 23rd December 2004 18:55

www.pabook.net is a place where most of the old guard go. You will recognise most of the people that post there.

MegaRock 23rd December 2004 19:08

Shocking as it is there is still apparently live at Shoutcast. Tag is still there and this week I had an issue where I needed to contact someone at Shoutcast directly - and got an answer from someone there who fixed the problem.

It might not be the ghost town so many assume because someone is obviously still there ...

dlinkwit27 23rd December 2004 19:25

i should really update my sig :/

Sandman2012 24th December 2004 07:36

That is a wonderful place to go. It is a much more intimate community and very little to no flaming and spamming.

Just got to deal with all the grammar nazis, the communists, the liberals, and the conservatives, and the audio freaks. Oh yeah, and a few members' addiction to the electronic toys  :D

zootm 24th December 2004 18:17

I resent the term "liberal" :D

ElChevelle 24th December 2004 19:45

If AOL slits the throat of this board, we should all go out and get real lives and seek therapy for the damage that is being done to our frontal lobes.

jerimiah40 24th December 2004 20:42

[off-topic]EL CHEVELLE LIVES!!!!!!!!!!![/off-topic]

drewbar 24th December 2004 20:45

What if our real lifes are boring and lame and we have too much free time then we know what to do with?

deeder7001 24th December 2004 20:46

then we keep doing what we've been doing. posting and stuff.

ElChevelle 24th December 2004 22:17

May Santa bring you a life.

Hopefully it won't be someone else's;)

Bilbo Baggins 24th December 2004 22:19

Actually it would be kinda cool if it was. Especially if they were like hella rich and famous!

ElChevelle 24th December 2004 22:21

You would take someone else's life?

henry3k56 24th December 2004 23:00

I don't know what escape plan you're thinking of...most of whom have gotten fed up on these forums went their own separate ways.

Some do return, and float away, never to be seen again..ever.

Pabook is a nice, warm, fuzzy place to go to.

At least in the beginning. Once you get recruited into the inner circle, you're presented with a number of alternate and mystical explanations as to the true nature of reality, each more confusing than the last, until finally you are granted the rank of 32nd Degree Mason and learn the horrifying truth about the Illuminati....

drewbar 24th December 2004 23:16

Plus it is very blue there.

Sandman2012 24th December 2004 23:21

That's what I meant to say...

cooky560 24th December 2004 23:23

If they do that I'll create a new company called LOA and start sending out free discs to everyone....blank discs but still....
