One theory that I heard a while ago was every human embreyo started out as female and as development started to happen the X chromosome appears and produces a male. The reason behind it is because there would be no other reason for us to have nipples.

I dont know if its true but meh.

Not to argue with Mrs Jones, but the penis and clitoris are totally different with different functions.

My arguement back to her is that the clitoris is an underdeveloped penis :), much fighting follows...

The clitoris does form into the penis after the nipples are formed. Like d0rk said, everyone is female and then the chromosones change to male.... or something. :D

So, in other words females rule :)

Yes, it's true, us men, we are all under the clit...

Men have nipples for sensory reasons.
Like when it's cold, they get pointy.

And as we develop we are neither male or female.
Every baby has a sexual bud (like a pseudo-penis) which either grows inward or continues to grow out as according to a hormones (which in turn are controlled by the presences or lack of a Y chromosome)

When you were a baby, who was your sexual bud?

Jones top tip of the day, always use fresh ice cubes for that one, don't take a mouthfull of vodka and ice cubes from your glass before trying it, it can often lead to tears. :cry:

More specifically (and to get geekier), a unified codebase. The evolutionary advantage necessary for nipples to dissappear off of men is so large that the ever-so-minor evolutionary disadvantage of a nipple will probably never give enough of a push for itself to disappear.

Depends what you mean by "shemale". A man can grow breasts with the right levels of female hormones, if that's what you're asking.

its the presence of the x chromosome that determines if you are male, if its not there, humans goto default (female) the sexual bud was a pretty good analogy.

Well, the term "transsexual" is vague. There are those who are born without a clear sex (yes, really), though most of the time, I believe people use that term to refer to a man who's taken hormones to grow boobs.

My dad owns a hardware store, and there are things you just kinda find out when you grow up with a hardware store in the family. :D

I go with every embryo starts female and then gets the correct hormone to become male.

So therefore in essence, the penis is an overdeveloped clitoris, and the testicles are labia which have gleaned organs from the hormonal process.

And Billy, it's the presence of the 'Y' chromosome that will make you male. Females have two X's, males have an X and a Y.

Some postulate that the missing string that creates the Y shape in males contains the capacity to ask for directions when lost. :D
