Good, Free domain?
What's the best domain I can get without paying?
"good" as in: Doesnt have popups or banners, and is still conveniently small. Is a .tk domain the best I can get? |
.tk isn't a domain but a re-direct
free webspace at www.asphost.com or www********** i'm sure there are plenty more (use google) |
.tk is the only real domain name you can get for free.
If you head on over to dyndns.org you can sign up for a free subdomain like yournamehere.ath.cx (they have a big list of domains to be registered under) and all you do is point that to the IP of your server (static or fixed). It's what I use, and it's quite reliable (at least with static IP). Also, New Year's Eve I bough a .info for $2 for 1 year from www.godaddy.com but it was a special deal. They have good service but their url forwarding is kind of annoying. |
.tk is ok, however, last time I used them (about a year ago), they didn't have subdirectory redirection, meaning that something like "squakmix.tk/something" would just take you to the main site instead of the "/something" folder. I've gone with vze.com for years because they do support this feature, however, you get a subdomain like "squakmix.vze.com" instead of a domain.

You actually going to use it??
I dont know why people are just registering 15+ domains for no reason at all. |
I'm using a lot of them as redirects to my different ftp accounts.
|
I registered 50 because.. they were free? :D
|
Are .info domains still free? Where can I register?
