Hello nuri.

First of all I would like to ask the intelligent guy “EazMan” a question.
Did you at all read “nuri’s” post in this thread? Reason I ask is that I don’t se anything relevant in your answer to him about the question he asked.

Second you don’t just "disable the firewall”. I run a web server and a radio server myself so I know how important it is to use a firewall, there are a lot of crap out there in case you didn’t know.
And finally did “nuri” ask you about his typing experience?

My answer to nuri:
I run a configuration similar to yours I think. I don’t run the N.I.S. since I run a server and don’t need the antivirus part of N.I.S on this machine. Just running the N.F.
So I’ll try to help you out.
The problem you seems to have is that your firewall blocks inbound (incoming) traffic from the internet to the program “sc_serv.exe” (Shoutcast server) on your computer.
If you didn’t se the popup window (Norton firewall) saying something like this: “a remote computer is trying to connect to sc_serv.exe”, what do you want to do?”
Then you already have sc_serv.exe in your firewalls program control list.

If so then you need to find the “program control list” in the firewall.
What I know is N.I.S. both firewall and antivirus software so first of all jump to the firewall section.
Then try to se if there is a tab or something where you can change settings for the firewall.
Inside settings for the firewall:
There you should se something like “Program Control”. Click on it.
In “program control” try to locate the sc_serv.exe in the “program list”.
When you found it click on it once, now it should be marked, then click on “Internet access” and choose “Permit all”.
When you’re done click OK and close the firewall settings. Now it should work.
Hope this helps you. :)

if you have a problem with an answer given by another member the decent thing to do is contact that member by pm or mail.
everybody that helps out here is an unpaid volunteer and it's not very polite to put anybody down this way.

I do agree that Eazman's answer was a bit too hard, because you could have seen in the log that was posted that this member isn't a native english speaking person.
never the less the forum language is english and one should try to write english the way it should be and keep far from chat talk.

Hello spaceplay.
With all respect to you man, but where do you se an answer to “nuri’s” question in “EazMan’s” posting?
What I meant with my words to “EazMan” was that “it's not very polite to put anybody down this way”, you get my point?
Best regards to you.

EazMan 20th January 2005 20:29

im sorry if I offended anyone by posting my answer. Spaceplay: I didnt read the entire log, but saw the part where it said "disable firewall".
It didnt make sence to me how he said it worked when he turned off internet security, but didnt work with it on (the obvios answer to me is turn off the firewall)
DBR: The answer is right there in my post, turn off the firewall, and i was simply trying to help him.

EazMan 20th January 2005 21:56

sorry, but i cant really give you any advice about how to open the ports exept, read your manual and you said you had a router you will likely need to forward ports on that too (check the router manual)

Im sorry i couldnt answer your question, at first i didnt fully understand what you meant and was to ignorant to see you were trying to learn english
