Warrior of the Light 27th February 2005 22:32

Actually it began with me believing that it couldn't be done after what happened with the flamepack..

^..^ 27th February 2005 22:38

yeah, also thought of that ;)
but all those general uncertainties at first. This idea began more than a month ago and -apart from more or less offtopic nonsense- we were discussing all the time.

PAK-9 28th February 2005 00:22

Those 'bombs away' remixes are still gunna be in the pack though right?

Mr_Nudge 28th February 2005 06:56

hey wotl, i didn't receive anything !!

^..^ 28th February 2005 08:53

but you did send him some presets, right? So sooner or later you will surely recieve a mail!

How many "bombs away" remixes will there be? Do you also want to add the "old" ones (eg. the one from paks "avs 4 se" pack)?

[Ishan] 28th February 2005 10:19

great going guys! i suppose the pack is shaping up quite nicely. I hope to see a real cool pack here :D

i hope my presets dont bring the overall quality of the pack down...................

Warrior of the Light 28th February 2005 11:25

Nudge, I sent them (again) to the same address you used to send me your presets. If that email address is not valid at all or if you still din't recieve anything, could you send me another address?

jheriko 2nd March 2005 12:51

Just so you know... I got my files fine :)

PJ-Avser 5th March 2005 21:11

I recieved my file. Can I plz send in a late file cause my phonelines, and therfore internet, were down. It's ready now.

Warrior of the Light 6th March 2005 13:39

I've received your file and forwarded it to your remixer.. I'll leave it up to him wether he has time for it or not..

MaTTFURY 7th March 2005 22:42

so when is this pack actually coming out?

^..^ 8th March 2005 08:58

when all remixes are done, and jheriko made the installer.
If i remember correctly the remix-deadline is 20th of march, so you have to ask jheriko how long it takes him to make the installer. Assuming that he won't need more than a week or so for it the pack is probably going to be released somewhat around end of march / begin of april. (Just my calculations)

Mr_Nudge 9th March 2005 06:54

a week?? just to make an installer?? cmon.

[Ishan] 9th March 2005 10:49

/me is eagerly waiting for the pack.

^..^ 9th March 2005 15:45

it was just a large scaled calculation.
Besides, Jheriko does not only have to make the installer, he has to test it and check if it works under all common operating systems. :p

However, i'm going to send my last mail concernig this pack later this afternoon. After that my contribution is done ;)

Tuggummi 9th March 2005 18:29

Common Operating Systems = All windows versions (beside < win95) ;)

It doesn't really matter what windows version the user has, because it will still be able to detect winamp and the installation folder. (and if it doesn't work for you, then it doesn't even need to work for you, because clearly your not worthy enough)

^..^ 9th March 2005 19:42

Do i hear a small hidden offence against linux etc. users?
That could mean trouble...

Mr_Nudge 10th March 2005 04:11

does anyone here even use linux??

MaTTFURY 10th March 2005 05:52

jaak -> wine -> w/a
//edit me sometimes, and ask everyone in GD ... :p

Tuggummi 10th March 2005 16:02

Jaak can figure out any installation problems himself, he's a big boy now :p

The rest of us surely use windows, riiight?

^..^ 10th March 2005 16:34

why should i use something different then windows anyway? Are there different operating systems? I don't know any! Windows is my one and only and favourite and the best and the most stable and greatest and most awesome and...

....

...and most stylish operating system. Seriously!

PAK-9 10th March 2005 17:37

I'm going to cut and paste that post into a *nix forum

Warrior of the Light 10th March 2005 17:42

If only WA ran under DOS 5.x

Tuggummi 10th March 2005 17:44

Then it wouldn't be WA anymore... it would be DA.

PAK-9 10th March 2005 17:51

Imagine making awsome visualisations in mode 17h

OLDSKOOOWWELLLL!!!1!!11!onehundredandeleven

Tuggummi 10th March 2005 17:56

256 colors. mmmm, crispy.

^..^ 10th March 2005 19:47

recently i found this when i was in dos-mode:
code:

C:\windows\temp>cd\

C:\>

C:\>cd progra~1

C:\progra~1>cd dosamp

C:\progra~1\dosamp> dosamp.com /avs

======================================

Welcome to DOSAMP!

It really splits the llamas ass!

but don't ask me what it's supposed to mean...

PAK-9 11th March 2005 10:07

[code]
e:\progra~1\dosamp>render /?

Renders one or more items to the frame buffer

RENDER el
code:
[-s | -o] [/r] [/p] [/ss]

el Specifies the effect list to render in
code Specifies the code block to use
-s Use spectrum data
-o Use oscilloscope data
/r Render ring to the framebuffer
/p Render points to the framebuffer
/ss Render superscope to the framebuffer

el must be a unique effect list identifier (UELI), see
elist command for more details. code has no effect if /r
is specified.
Press any key to continue . . .

Well I'll be

Tuggummi 11th March 2005 11:44

...damned.

PAK-9 11th March 2005 14:05

speak for yourself

^..^ 11th March 2005 14:54

pah, that bit of text-work can't keep a real avs-artist from making presets!

/starts dosamp and begins to type

[hours later]

hey i finished my first effect: i added fyrewurx!!!

stable? best? my arse it is.

[Ishan] 12th March 2005 09:57

is there a war on OS going on here? :p

^..^ 12th March 2005 10:10

no, not really. Actually i think every os has it's pros and cons. I'm only using win, cause it's the most supported one so i don't have to search long for programms/drivers etc. Also my first own PC came along with win95, if linux had been more common in that time i would probably use it now.

PJ-Avser 14th March 2005 08:51

Windows

CONS:
Uncustomizable (without additional programs or hacks)
closed source :(
Unstable
inefficient ( eg: Using windowblinds is less CPU heavy than the normal XP theme, if you turn off the xp style manager in the regestry"
...
...
...

Pros:
:weird:
Ummm....
Well there's.... Nope
or the... no thats linux
:igor:

^..^ 14th March 2005 11:59

i guess discussing about win or linux could be just as senseless as a discussion about whether to use nvidia or ati gpu's or like intel vs. amd or discussing about belifes or... :weird:

PAK-9 14th March 2005 12:35

I agree that ^..^ needs a bit of a slap for calling windows stable and 'best'.

The question is how many other O/S's have you actually used on a regular basis and in how many contexts?

^..^ 14th March 2005 12:41

oh! im sorry pak, that you didn't get that this here was meant ironical:

Honestly, did you really think that ^this is my opinion?

Tuggummi 14th March 2005 12:45

^..^, i think you're being double-sarcasm'd... or something :p

PAK-9 14th March 2005 12:47

I'm getting al confused with ^..^'s triple ironical double bluffs
