Help!

Hey, first off, mods if this is in the wrong place please move it to the write place,

I need someone with good graphics & slight coding skills to make my friend a Phantom of the Opera Winamp Skin, i promised her i would make it for her cause she is obsessed, & ive tried so can anyone help me out?

these are the pics she wants in it:

http://phantomthemovie.warnerbros.co...main_image.jpg

http://www.thephantomoftheopera.com/images/mask.jpg << that pic could take the place of the red circaled one one in any normal skin
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...r1/example.bmp

If anyone makes this for me please email it to Yellowdragon2009@adelphia.net in the form of a .zip file, thank you

dragonmaster1 1st February 2005 02:12

a dark blue button scheme please

dlinkwit27 1st February 2005 02:42

google for skinner.exe. It will make one from either of those pics. Just don't try to submit it here.

LuigiHann 1st February 2005 02:58

Does it have to be that specific? I found this thing: http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/14671948/
I didn't make it, but neither did you.
Otherwise, you really shouldn't have any problem doing it with Skinner.exe like dlinkwit said. We're talking classic skins here, so there's no coding involved beyond knowing how to read instructions and to make a zip file.

Phantom of the opera skin eh?, I only flushed one of those from the database yesterday as it was very unusable, missing EQ, missing buttons all over the place.

If I still have it I can upload it for you when I get back to my other PC, I should still have the file hopefully.

or was that you who submitted it in the first place?

And here it is..

I LOVE that show. I'd love to make one and this gives me a great idea to. Although if you ask around here, you'll find out that I am extremely slow at skinning.

LuigiHann 1st February 2005 21:22

Heh, Jones, the skin you linked to is the same one I linked to. It's not very usable, is it.
K_rock, finish the etch a sketch skin. ;) This thing just needs to be run through a generator. If he likes that Inu Yasha skin, he should have no trouble with that.

Mr Jones 1st February 2005 21:29

hehe, so it is, at least he won't have the misfortune to have to (slooooowly) download it from deviantfart now.

LuigiHann 1st February 2005 21:32

Is someone from Winamp.com really in the position to make fun of another site's servers? ;)
But yeah, Deviantart can be painfully slow and annoying.

dragonmaster1 1st February 2005 21:34

thank you all, i will try to use skinner.exe to make it, if i cant i will ask further

I'm not from winamp.com, I'm a user like you, AOL don't pay me to do nuthin around here so I'm free to critique who I like :)

Yes, devart has always been nothing but slow for me, hence why I never even bothered to click on your link to notice you'd linked the same skin.

/I thought devart had a big thing about publishing copyright material in skins and so on these days or was that some other site, I forget, might have been deskmod...

dragonmaster1 1st February 2005 21:38

hey mr jones, can u send me a link to skinner.exe

Mr Jones 1st February 2005 21:39

No, but I can give you this link, apparently it helps you find anything, try it and let us know.
http://www.google.com

LuigiHann 1st February 2005 21:44

Now that I actually look for it, is skinner.exe even a real program? It almost seems like more of a euphamism for skin generators. I used to use Quickskin before I started using Skinner's Atlas.

Mr Jones 1st February 2005 21:47

I think it changed name when the author developed (haha) it to do both classic and modern skin, it's known as skinnertoo these days.

http://www.softandco.com/a/9400/skinnertoo.html

And it's still shite.

I think the skinner.exe name just came as a result of what the executable was named, skinner.exe

this is better than google...well its the icing on the cake just add the search at the end before you give it out.

k_rock923 27th February 2005 05:09

Did anything ever happen with this skin? I was looking forward to seeing it finished as I love that show.

LuigiHann 27th February 2005 05:21

Nobody made it. You could make it. Heck, mikwiththestick could probably make it. :p It's just a pic, so it could just be a generator skin. It would take ten seconds. I don't even have the generator anymore.

k_rock923 27th February 2005 14:55

Heh, I plan to do this eventually. I actually finished and submitted etch a sketch (and kept the pencil. I just couldn't get rid of it :D) I'm going to finish that war memorial one, and I'm also working on a *gasp* modern skin but I'm not ready to give details on that yet. So, this one is in line.

LuigiHann 28th February 2005 02:28

What's a terator?

k_rock923 28th February 2005 02:30

I'm guessing it's his friend.

mike-db 28th February 2005 02:40

Never mind i cant spell. lol thats a hard word for me. um... oh a terator is a Back Staber lets say your girl friend says shell never leave you but then she does known as a terator and a cheator.

Edit: Tray-tor

LuigiHann 28th February 2005 02:51

Traitor? Geez, learn to spell, and punctuate. If you made a typo here and there I'd be sympathetic, but half the time I don't have a clue what you're saying.

sledheads_dave 28th February 2005 02:53

/Whistles

LuigiHann 28th February 2005 02:56

No, it's traitor. He doesn't exactly know what it means, but I'm pretty sure that's what he was going for.

mike-db 28th February 2005 05:10

Lol yea i suck at spelling. Im more into math.

k_rock923 28th February 2005 19:11

Me too, but I can get my meaning across. When spelling is so bad that it hampers the meaning of a sentence, there is a problem.

mike-db 2nd March 2005 18:58

LuigiHann i have to say this one thing. Yes I do know what the hell im saying. If I didnt I would not be talking to you guys now would I? Im sure there are some of you here who probably wish that i did not know how to type, But you are going to have to put up with me until I get better.

5 words mispelt out of 8 ain't so great :D But spelling is not usually the main problem. The main thing, for me at least, is punctuation and proper sentence structure. If you don't write in proper sentences, it makes it so much harder for everyone to read your posts, because while to you it makes sense, to the rest of the world, it's just...one long stream of garbage that never ends and like its really hard to read cos you dont know where the breaks are you dont know where the pauses are you dont know where the sentences stop where they start when someone writes with punctuation all this information is contained in the sentence thats one of the things that makes written language so great and so powerful but when you write it without punctuation its just a big pain in the arse to read for everyone but you how selfish.

k_rock923 3rd March 2005 00:46

:D StillWater is a fellow grammar nazi.
