Not just Spongebob, but Flintstones?

Fred and Barney should be banned because they are virtually inseparable, are never seen wearing pants and live together in the suggestively-named town of Bedrock, complains a conservative activist

Tarron_D 12th February 2005 04:35

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA...oh wait, excuse me...HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH! Please! What will conservative activists think of next?

Print 12th February 2005 04:37

How about Bert and Ernie?? I mean c'mon there's something up there - am I right?

Tarron_D 12th February 2005 04:41

They're next, trust me. This whole thing is too funny. I knew stuff like this was coming. You know, even though we all know this stuff has nothing to do with gays, its still being targeted. Its all part of a huge gay backlash that is on its way. Its only going to get worse before it gets better.

griffinn 12th February 2005 04:42

George Bush and Condoleezza Rice?

Mattress 12th February 2005 04:42

fred and barney don't live together, they're also both married to women. who ever said that was a complete retard.

cyu 12th February 2005 04:45

Haha... I am surprised they haven't attacked Kerry and Edwards

Tarron_D 12th February 2005 04:49

My dad, being a republican, totally critisized Kerry and Edwards for their "lovey dovey huggy shit" as he put it. Im not quite sure WHY they haven't been publicly critisized for it, but they sure have been PRIVATELY critisized.

Mattress 12th February 2005 04:51

they were made fun of for it in the right wing blog-o-sphere.

Cognition 12th February 2005 05:04

They do realise as well, that bedrock is the name of the lowest rock layer in the crust of the Earth? And it's called that because the show is set way in the past when the lower layers of rock were at the top? OMG THE VERY GROUND WE WALK UPON IS SUGGESTIVE!

"We'll have a GAY ol' time"?!

Please, it's so blantantly obvious that even a Liberal could figure out!

I know better than this can be done...

griffinn 12th February 2005 05:56

*sigh* Looks like nobody's got any clue yet. The author of the article, Andy Borowitz, writes satires on his site The Borowitz Report.

Among his latest satires that have been taken too seriously is the story, Fox News Buys Al-Jazeera.

bgesley 12th February 2005 08:01

I think the point was that even if it is satire, it still wasn't honestly surprising. Whether it be the KKK trying to take Barney off the air because the actor who plays Barney is black or whether it be the conservative reverand who attacks the so-called "white supremacy propoganda of the homosexual nazi Teletubbies" there is still going to be a group of uptight asswipes who think the freedom of speach should only pertain to people who share their beliefs.

Tarron_D 13th February 2005 04:22

Me agree to bgesley!

Jay 13th February 2005 05:31

the funny thing is, even on the page at the link posted at the top it says "Satire".

Mattress 13th February 2005 06:11

That'll teach me not to bother to click the link.

I have this problem where I trust people, it's so dumb.

Phyltre 14th February 2005 00:42

OMG!!! WHo said that!!!

Theyare soooo the stuupid! those conservatists activisms, so stuupid!!!!!

BTW, wut does 'satire" mean?

Mike H. 14th February 2005 00:51

It was a joke.

I suspected something when I saw this line:

Quote:

Elsewhere, President Bush announced a budget of $2.57 trillion, most of which will go to paying for last month's inauguration.
