winamp like visualisations with external sound
 

I really like the visualisations in winamp, perfectly on the beat of the music.

I want to project visualisations like this, but with external music. There will be 2 cd-players and 2 turn tables. I want the projecten synchronised with the beat, just like my light computer which uses the rec out of the mixer.

There are lots of vj programms, but most of them use vids, pics an flash files. The only sound synchronisation is by changing or mixing different sources of let text come up on the beat.

In winamp you can choose a visualisation, change parameters en keep that in the same colour scheme as the light show. It would be perfect if a programm can do this and if you can save settings under a logical name. For instance dust-blue-purple. Then I could select that, change the light show also in blue and purple colours en all will be triggered by the sound from the dj's mixer.

Anyone an idea? Maybee there is a program like that of maybee winamp can be configured that it uses external sound for beat recognition.

I must say that it's would be great if it was an individual program

I don't know about stand-alone apps that do it, but with Winamp you can show visualizations using the LineIn of the soundcard. Read here how to set it up:
