Where do you go for quiet time?

I guess we all need our own space sometimes. If you dont live alone where do you go to get your own quiet time?

If you do live alone do you wish you had others around or do you enjoy it?

Hugs,

One of three places, depending where I'm at...

If I'm at my dad's house, it's my room...If I'm at my mom's house, it's downstairs...If I'm driving my Mustang, it's a trip to Sleepy Hollow...

psyfive 26th February 2005 17:25

When I need a little alone time I head to the nearest gas station and then go for a long drive. I find that on a nice night drive on an empty country highway is very relaxing. I usually find myself in Ft. Collins or Black Hawk but one time I ended up in Cheyenne.

Legally (on paper) I live with my grandmother. Most of the time I stay with a really good friend and if I am not there I can be found at my moms house.

mysterious_w 26th February 2005 17:44

I don't really have a spot for quiet time, I just go where the rest of my family ain't.

Joel 26th February 2005 17:51

I go to my room... bathroom... silence :)
silence is good to meditate you inner spirit :)

k_rock923 26th February 2005 17:53

I have a little place in the woods not too many people know about. It's very peaceful there. I'll just go for a run sometimes too.

Mrs_Mia_Wallace 26th February 2005 17:57

I live on my own so I have as much quiet time as I want to :)

I almost always stay with friends - I believe talking and good communication with people is the best way to spend your time (when you're not busy) - it is also the best way of relaxing yourself when under stress, especially talking to your girlfriend. But if I did want some time to be alone, I would go to a cafetaria or my Uni's computer lab(s).

Same here :) And I wouldn't have it any other way. Tho if there is some strange need of a SUPER Quiet time experience I would most likely go to Indian Rock. Its a huge rock in Berkeley with an amazing view of the entire bay area.

Mrs_Mia_Wallace 26th February 2005 18:39

Well, I'll move together with my boyfriend this summer but we want a big enough apartment so everyone gets their own room in case we need some quiet time :)

Agreed. Counter strike, WoW, and The Forums are my quiet places.

morgado 26th February 2005 20:54

I just lay on my bed, turn on my Discman and stay there with closed eyes for a while ... makes me travel to somewhere I'm all alone and quiet !

S-uper_T-oast 26th February 2005 21:23

I go sit on the roof. It got really bad once when I fell asleep and almost rolled off...

Guest232 26th February 2005 23:08

I usually get my bike and make a trip to the woods, or I listen to music with my headphones. Very relaxing.

protegechris 27th February 2005 00:01

I go to the protege and rock out ;)

Wait...It's still impossible to accomplish "quiet time" in my bedroom, so as long as I have my bass guitar and effects pedal plugged into my amp...

But hey; At least I'm quite content and shut off from the rest of the world when I bust out some Metallica and AC/DC chops... :D

I use to do that at my parents home. Now quite usually comes during riding and in my dreams.

I'll usually close off the board room and do either work or play on the resident PC plugged into both the network and the big screen projector. :)

Vie 28th February 2005 18:32

I live alone with my 14 year old son.You say quiet time, what is this that you speak of,cause in my home Ive got a child up my ass 24/7.:weird:

Dont get me wrong,I love my son very much, but damnI would love it if he'd give the pleasure of having some quiet time to myself.:hang:

petitechloe664y 1st March 2005 02:30

whiteflip 1st March 2005 04:27

I'm going to have to go with a night drive on the freeway too. Black sky, street lamps, mellow music (Will Smith - Just Crusin' amongst others). Its the best.

I see you live near me. I am north of you on 287 and I go to a school where the mascot is a Cowboy, unfortunately that is.

Edit - I drive south to Fort Collins and get stuck in traffic then develope road rage and then drive back just because Fort Collins has everything that -insert University town north of Fort Collins- doesn't. That or I end up in Cheyenne as well.

I kinda live in Brighton and commute to Denver every day for work. I just seem to end up in Ft. Collins for some reason. I think its the Barnes and Noble there.

I graduated from West High in Denver (The West High Cowboys) so watch what you say about Cowboys :p

manthabeats 1st March 2005 06:04

No I'm sure your Cowboys are fine, I'm talking about my Cowboys. They can't win a damn game.

psyfive 1st March 2005 11:20

Heh neither could ours. The only decent teams we had was the cross country running and the track and field teams.

Football, basketball, baseball, tennis, vollyball, swimming, and the golf team all sucked ass. At least they did when I went to school.

[back on topic]
When I have the money I go to Red & Jerrys or Dave & Busters (video game arcade places). I know it's not "quiet" but it helps me relax a little.
