My Dog Ate my.....

I have a 7month old golden. i got him at 6 weeks and hes been a great dog. well minus the things he eats, so far hes chewed up my new shoes, a few cd's a pack of ciggarets hes chewed up the cord to my alarm clock (wich made me latte for work) a cable to my ps2 and the remote for my cable box he chewed a hole in my water bed (on accident trying to get a toy inbetween the bed and the frame) i realy didnt want a water bed anyways. hes acctualy chewed a hole in the drywall and today i got home and he had pulled out all my dvds and games and chewed up half the cases.
He goes to the park and plays ball for at least an hour every day and gets walked in the morning and 3 times a night. i know hes not mad at me just bored when iam at work.

So what has your dog chewed up that just realy pisses you off? or just plane sucks?

He also ate your grammar abilities.

You just have to train him better (a spray bottle set halfway betwen squirt and mist works well with cats) and keep things he likes out of reach.

Consider making sure there are various of chew toys he likes sitting around. Have a couple bones, a couple plastic/rubber, a couple thick ropes, etc. for him to chew on to keep him entertained. Also consider cordoning him off into one room, or even better, on a leash outside, while you are gone.

My dog ate my shoes, and at the time I was too broke to buy new ones. He ate them 4 days after I bought them. My first dog like to eat the christmas ornaments, they looked pretty I guess.

But now they're both gone so nobody chews up anything. It sucks. My favorite thing about my dogs was that they were always there, always listening. I used to talk to them regularly simply because there was no one else who would listen.

but yeah, ornaments and shoes. never furniture though, which is crazy.

I spent 3 months on a special pencil sketch.

I had every detail nearly perfect - even down to the specific look of the leather on him.

The day after I finished this awsome drawing I come home from a friends' house and lo-and behold: my fucking dog pissed on it.

It was the ONLY thing he pissed on. there was a pile of magazines in the corner that he could've befouled but no - he chooses a small pencil sketch sitting on a paper pad to piss on.

*sigh* that's the problem though - I could'nt just take out my frustration on him because he didn't realize what he was doing.

My grammer always sucks, That was a funny burn though.

However this thread was created for what your dog has done not how to rase them.
Hes got about $150 worth of various chew toys, balls, bones and things i gave him of mine, every thing you have listed and more.
everything i listed he chewed on was in the course of the last 5 1/2 months. hes a puppy and thats what happens.
He never does that stuff when iam home.

Take a piece of meat or something and roll it up. Put a pepper in the middle. Give it to the dog. That'll teach em

Not true. You could easily make sure he never does anything to anyone, or even himself, ever again. And there are sooo many options...

squakMix 25th March 2005 02:09

He pissed once randomly in the house. He's an old dog. He hadn't pissed in the house in years.

I suppose I could just break his legs off...

;)

back when my dog was a puppy, she used to tear around the house and chew on anything and everything. What we found stopped her was to leave a radio on when we left, the dog dosent think shes alone, and she will not chew on things she shouldnt.

ShyShy 25th March 2005 05:48

The radio idea is a good one, but, the main thing is that DJ's puppy is lonely and that's how they act out. Most dogs grow out of that stage soon enough, but will find other ways to let you know that they're pissed at ya for leaving them. My parents' last dog used to tip her food dish over when my parents would go out.

Widdykats 25th March 2005 13:44

A big ol' "Rawhide Bone" and bones that ya' can stuff with meat or cheese. I don't think wuppys should be left alone for too long. Dogs need contact with something as they are pack animals, while widdys are Solitary, and we hate you. :D

shakey_snake 25th March 2005 16:06

My dog never really chewed on much.
We put her in her crate when nobody's home.

Mattress 25th March 2005 17:02

I've heard bad things about those rope bones. things having to do with digestive processes after the dog has chewed the crap out of the rope and swallowed a bunch of string...

are you recommending a stuffed dog so the puppy will have something to do and hump all day?

http://www.china-plushtoys.com/image.../xm_3001_b.jpg

comes in different sizes depending on the size of the dog :D

LuigiHann 25th March 2005 18:28

Heh. My dog rapes murders and eats teddy bears and whatnot if we leave them where she can get at them.

Guest232 25th March 2005 18:28

Feed the dog for once...

My friend got a greater swiss about a month after i got my dog, his dog is 10 days younger then mine, he paid $1200 for this dog as it comes from a show family. Anyways he got this ball that had 2 1/2 inch thick ropes going threw it tide with knots on each end. 4 dogs could play tug-o-war with it. My dog his dog and our other friends puppy wouold get together and play tug-o-war with it. well the knots got untied and long story short his dog swallowed the whole foot long 1/2 inch rope. it cost him $1500 to get the rope back. its now a $2800 dog

My dog ate my homework. You know how hard it is to write on those little biscuits?
