FTP Programs
 

I'm just looking for suggestions on FTP programs.

I've noticed alot of good FTP servers with some good files. I am using some crappy one right now, so i'm interested in seeing what everyone else uses.

Also if you can, explain what's good about your favorite FTP.

Yeah, FlashFXP is all you need for downloading. It's not for server however, only managing other FTPs.

I currently use AceFTP. SmartFTP looks pretty good as well though, will give that one a try...

I only use AceFTP for uploading, works fine for me.

I use FlashFXP, it's great.

DOS FTP

Filezilla - Mainly 'cause it's the only one i've known. I find it very simple to use and have had no bad encounters with it as of yet.

FireFTP is great.
Filezilla is the same codebase in a standalone program.

SmartFTP, by a mile. Best interface I've ever seen on an FTP client ever.

Yeah i'm gonna have to go with SmartFTP. Alot of you have suggested this, and who am I to argue :p.

Filezilla didn't look bad either though.

I've personally always used WS_FTP, originaly the LE version and for the last couple of years the Pro version, never had any problems with it, the new version of Pro being particulary good I find.

Not sure if the LE version is still being offered for download, but I'm sure you could pick up the Pro edition if you know where to look *cough*warez*cough*

Yeah.. i've seen WSFTP installed on some college computers as well. I think most FTP clients will accomplish the same thing for you though. It'll more or less come down to how you like it.

i like smartftp

I like SecureFX.

As is the trend, I like SmartFTP - it's a brilliant piece of software. The only problem with it is its slipshod implicit SSL support (though explicit works fine).
