fuck opera to hell!!!

Opera Flaw 1!
anyone else want to add to this?

ohh wait
Opera Flaw 2!
Opera Flaw 3!
Opera Flaw 4!
Opera Flaw 5!

YtseJam 18th June 2005 07:37

Instead of only bitching, how about reporting it, so that it could be looked into and even get fixed...

I'll do it for you.

sigh.

MaTTFURY 18th June 2005 07:49

YtseJam: I'm not a beta-tester or nor do I entend to become one, but that's just a simple test I performed compared to firefox...!

YtseJam 18th June 2005 07:51

Wow, compared to FIREFOX the amazing browser!

Every browser has its flaws. If you don't report, it might not be found, if it won't be found, it'll probably not get fixed. Hence, stop bitching and take action.

But hey, thanks for letting 'us' know, I'll post about it in the Opera forum once it's back up.

biggman15 18th June 2005 08:12

hmm...Only the last 2 did anything.... The 1st 3 didn't on My copy of Opera...

Edit: Just tested Firefox against your Bitching...
3 and 5 got past Firefox....

Edit: 3,4, and 5 got past Maxthon...

Print 18th June 2005 08:19

3 gave me the drop down image or whatever and 5 stayed locked while I scrolled.

Didn't get any popups though (even though I still get them with FF often enough).

gaekwad2 18th June 2005 09:02

3 and 5 worked in Firefox 1.0.4 and K-Meleon 0.9 (but in 5 the popup was mostly offscreen)
2 and 5 in Opera 8 (in 4 the Airplane appeared, but no banner, maybe due to the adblock css that includes blocking based on size)
3, 4 and 5 got past IE6 sp2

Print 18th June 2005 09:09

When you say 3 & 5 worked fine, do you mean FF has those flaws?

Or by working fine are you talking about my post saying you didn't get the same result?

gaekwad2 18th June 2005 09:17

They worked as in: got around FF's blocker, so I did get the same result as you and biggman15.

Print 18th June 2005 09:18

Yeah that's what I figured.. wasn't 100% sure though whether you were saying FF worked, or the site worked.. anywho...

MaTTFURY 18th June 2005 09:22

proves quite interesting yeah?

Print 18th June 2005 09:31

No.

Evil Lu 18th June 2005 09:40

Yay browser wars, just use the one you like most then have an argument about Macs versus Windows.

shakey_snake 18th June 2005 10:08

Still getting pop-ups in firefox?

FF < Opera, IE

Windows < Linux, Mac

Yes.

gaekwad2 18th June 2005 10:30

How about KDE vs Gnome or Vi vs Emacs?

Doesn't matter if you've never used them, just pretend and throw in some bits you've read somewhere.

Print 18th June 2005 10:32

Where i've heard about KDE, Gnome, Vi and EMACS?

Right here.

Evil Lu 18th June 2005 10:49

Smoking or non-smoking? Daddy or chips?

gaekwad2 18th June 2005 10:58

British English or American English?

Evil Lu 18th June 2005 11:05

I'll stick with British English. It's odd that I understand Americanisms with no problem at all but my better half (American) cannot understand many Briticisms. I must have watched too much Dukes of Hazzard as a child.

k_rock923 18th June 2005 14:31

@gaekwad. . .vi all the way.

vim

zootm 18th June 2005 14:33

jEdit for me, but the nice lady at school did say I was "different".

I'm finding Visual Studio alright for C# editing at my work, too.

k_rock923 18th June 2005 14:38

No fair! I was just choosing between vi and emacs. And I picked vi because I never bothered to learn emacs (although until I bothered to learn vi, I did nothing but start it up and type :q ) I greatly prefer kate and kedit.

dlinkwit27 18th June 2005 15:46

yea, 3 (which is actually 8) and 5 also worked here.

/edit
interesting. Not one worked on Maxthon! Smoe like the airplane and drop down started, but then they were recogonized and blocked within a half second or less.

k_rock923 18th June 2005 16:55

shakey, i still got the popups when i added the value to about:config. However, I never get popups while surfing so I guess it doesn't matter.

I use both FF and Opera whenever possible; Firefox for when I need the help of extensions, such as Adblock and ImageZoom; Opera for whenever I need compatability, and have massave file downloading to do. :)

Yeah, I still get 8 and 5, but thats where either Adblock, or Noscript comes in handy.
Adblock's gonna block whatever image comes from an ad server, and NoScript will keep the script from executing at all.

morgado 18th June 2005 19:08

I'm o Linux and none of them worked on my Firefox (1.0.4)

Tried Noscript a couple days ago.... It's useless to Me at this point... There is a Bug that's either in Firefox as they Claim... or in the plugin itself that causes Firefox to Crash repeatedly... Unless they fix that crash Noscript won't work for everyone... I'd bet it has something to do with windows... But that's just me...

Based on you whole comment i'm assuming you meant to type this:

IE > FF, Opera

But yeah, i'll definately agree with that one.

Why bother?
This thread reaks of retardedness.

@biggman
I wasn't aware of that, but that's probably because I've been using a Deer Park build for quite a while.

Warrior of the Light 18th June 2005 23:17

Safari is said to be flawless..

All I need now is an Apple, one that supports WinAmp :D

Doesn't it all depend on which way the symbol is?

That was my understanding...

Greater < less

Less > greater

?

Someone explain this too me because that's what i've always thought :(.

But that just shows it does matter which way the symbol is, but it also shows that I had it backward.. right?

I'm fucking confused.

Too much on my mind right now...

biggman15 19th June 2005 02:02

Yep, Backwards...

xzxzzx 19th June 2005 02:46

Those are not "flaws", except perhaps the first one. Most of them don't work in Opera 8.01 anyway...
