Legality Of Winamp

I would like to know if it is legal to watch live shotcast streams (ie. Simpsons, Family Guy episodes etc) and to listen to shoutcast streams.

Thanks
Mike

yes. you can listen to and watch them.
streamripping them is the illegal part.

Broadcasting them in the first place is probably illegal as well, unless people are paying huge lumps of royalty payments to them.

I'm sure Fox and all those other big studios out there have their copyrights busted all the time by people running private video streams, check out the copyright notices, they will usually say 'for private home use only, not for public broadcast or re-distribution' etc etc.

However as a viewer that's not your concern, nothing wrong in watching them, broadcasting them however is probably a grey fuzzy area......
