I got a question... Whats up with the ghey sig size limit? Look at mine -points velow- I admit thats pretty big, and I was gunna size it down anyways, but its only friggen 71KB... Who in their right minds would use a damn forum often with 56k. Let alone spend 3 hours skimming through a single thread just to find one thing.... Were not in the 90s anmore ppl....

General rule of thumb, if your sig is bigger than what you are posting then either your sig is too big or what you are posting aint worth reading, quite often both.

However, those are the guidelines for this forum and I think you'll agree nothing is worse than reading some online web forum where every single post is some fucking huge banner advert for whatever crap the user thinks is cool, repeat that 10, 20 times a thread, multiply that by 10 or 20 users all replying in the same thread and it starts to look more garish than a whores bedroom.

Don't like it, unlucky, as it aint changing anytime soon.

I browse these forums (and several others) every day, on a 28.8k connection.

As my stuff stated, dsl/cable (or even 56k dialup) isnt available everywhere.

I feel sorry for you Atmo.

I have Dial up.... I can view this forum just fine... Everything loads fast....

It looks to me like SIG's are ok. Some of you have quite clever sigs that meet the guidelines. Many are really cool.

I'll have fiber optic 5mbps here in the fall. Do I get to look down my nose at you meager DSL and Cable users?.

Fios is gonna beat that like a redheaded bastard son.

If you want to spend some some money, try 30mbps. Also available at about $180 a month. In a couple years, way cheaper.

Cable modems suck. My brother has ATT cable. His "theoretical" 6mbps cable modem is usually slower than my Verizon DSL, unless you do downloads at 4 am.

He can't even use a VOIP phone most of the time.

You could tell from my site that I use a lot of bandwidth.

I'd have to adblock a 71kb sig or I could never view anything. Seriouly, that'd even take some time to load on DSL. It's still gonna be a couple of years until all the major towns in this country have broadband access, and it's prohibitively expensive at first when it gets there. It's not only US citizens on the internet sir.

Just as an example, say I want 2mbps speeds with a 10GB cap, that's about the best you can get here. That'll be about $45US a month. Broadband starts at about $25US a month but you'll have low caps and very low speed.

As i already stated. Its the rules, dont like it, go elsewhere. Continue to bitch, we'll force you out.

Maybe we should scrap sigs altogether.

how about no images in sigs? pabook has that rule and it works well.

how about we allow html/flash in sigs?
