APEv2 Tags Support!
I think the title is self explanitary - all my stuff is tagged in foobar with APEv2 + ID3v1...the ID3v1 is for port. players where APE support is understandable...but Winamp??
Plus I can't edit any tags in WA without putting slow-as-hell ID3v2 tags on >.< If there is a plugin that (along with staying compatible with MAD decoder) allows at least APEv2 Reading, please direct. Thanks. |
From the Winamp 5.0 Wishlist:
in_mp3 APE v2 tags support Probably NEVER going to happen, but it has been asked for. |
Why not? In many audio communities, WA is laughed at for its piss-poor tagging. :/
Is there at least not a plugin? Or a way to specify decent ID3v2 padding? Tagging takes so damn long with crapy ID3v2 :( |
I don't know what you mean with 'staying compatible with MAD decoder', but in_mpg123 can read APEv2 tags (and supports replaygain and 24bit output).

Thanks Gaekwad - I'm trying in_mpg123 ...but I still see no APEv2 tags :S.
E: and how do I count things with "The" as starting with "The" with respect to sorting? Edit 2: Actually, that was just nullsoft's default plugin managing to steal priority. Now I moved the in_mp3.dll and in_mad.dll out of the directory and it all seems to work nicely :) How do I add leading zeros? Does this support any tagz? |
