Is it possible to keep Winamp resident?
Hi all, long time user/first time poster :)
Just thought I'd ask about something that's been bugging me for a while. Is there a way to hide Winamp when you close it while keeping it running in the background? The main reason for this is because I'm forever closing and re-opening it, and it'd make sense for it to remain resident when I close it rather than closing it every time. Yes it's a bad habit, but I was wondering if there's a plug-in or something that actually does this? I was hoping that the agent would do this but as far as I can tell... it doesn't. Sorry if my description is a bit vague - I can try and make it more coherant if necessary :p |
clsoe to tray v1.1.2 try this plugin out. read teh thread for a full description if you dont understand what it does. configure plugin under pref> plugins> general

Maybe something like DrO's Close to Tray plugin:
http://forums.winamp.com/showthread....74#post1637274 I think that'll do what you want :) [edit] Heh, hi billy |

PS: DrO really shouldn't have named the file after me LOL :p |
use agent, and make winamp show in neither the taskbar or systray. Agent replaces its right click menu to that of winamps when winamp is running so that way winamp is always available in the system tray, regardless of if its loaded or not.
yeah, i guess you have a short delay if winamp isnt running already, but heh, winamp loads up in a splitsecond anyway. |
