I have far too many fonts.
You can get free ones here, just download and unzip into your fonts folder http://www.1001freefonts.com/

dlinkwit27 17th September 2005 15:55

what do you mean by "stylish"?

something that will fit with the latest styles and its more for women 22-35ish so i dont know, everything i have is to geeky or boyish

dlinkwit27 17th September 2005 16:05

check out what i have above, some of those might work. be careful though. If this is for commercial purposes, you will need to get permission from teh authors to use them.

tuckerm 17th September 2005 16:16

ya, i will, i cant get 'em to work now...i mean its in the font folder (running 98se) but there not showing up anywhere

mysterious_w 17th September 2005 17:53

Guess you have not heard of the smudge tool. I'm no photoshop/GIMP expert or anything, but I've smoothed it a bit. (included both images for comparison)

Fade out selection or putting the woman in a separate layer and slightly blurring its alpha mask would work even better.

The Gimp is evil to work with, kudos to you for getting so far. I prefer Photoshop myself.

ElChevelle 17th September 2005 18:21

Photoshop rules!
I can not only make it look like she's on that beach but she would even look like she has a penis in her hand;)

I like ruining things in photoshop. *proud member of www.b3ta.com * :D

k_rock923 17th September 2005 18:35

the gimp UI is really really messed up

mysterious_w 17th September 2005 18:46

I.. kinda.. prefer the GIMP's UI. Ecept I've lost the layer window and need to find out how to get it back.

:::edit::: @VVtuckervv just make sure and copy and paste the font file in to the directory with all the other fonts and if it still doesnt work just try reseting the program or your os for it to recognize it proper.

tuckerm 17th September 2005 19:58

billyvnilly 17th September 2005 20:19

White Raven 17th September 2005 20:19

That hair needs a little work.
The cutting around the woman is good, but yeah.
Hair's always difficult to photoshop.

Schmeet 17th September 2005 20:20

Took me all of 5 seconds to find photoshop torrents...

Evil Lu 17th September 2005 20:48

I Googled mine. It's amazing how many people just leave things lying about in "parent directory" without thinking/caring.

[photoshop noob]Am I the only one who finds MSPaint easier to use than Photshop Elements?[/photoshop noob]

Vie 18th September 2005 09:48

Personaly I find that MSPaint is the easyest of any art program to use. Photoshops interface is quite awful compaired to it, the GIMP is a bit better, but it can be a real pain if your doing detailed work on large images.

However personaly, if I was to recomend a good art program with a half decent interface I would say Micrographics Picture Publisher. An example of basic GUI standards being obayed and thus making an interface that dose not make you want to beat the creator of it with a clue bat.

ElChevelle 18th September 2005 15:55

/me photoshops a pic of Tucker holding a copy of photoshop:p

tuckerm 18th September 2005 16:49

:blah:!
anyway by means of a few friendly members who shall not be menchioned i have photoshop 7.0 :D

Uh.. of course MSPaint UI is more easiest as it doesn't contain the power that Photoshop has. Kinda like comparing a shop-mobile's electric motor to a Ferrari engine.

rockouthippie 18th September 2005 21:10

If you can get past the non-intuitive (japanese poorly translated to english) one of my favorites is Pixia. I has a lot of power..... layers, opacity etc ....

Very good for drawing anime....

well i tottaly screwed it up.
she forgot to tell me its for the people on top of the horse that she designs clothes for.
i re-did it with a horse in it and then added my own text.

this is my first photoshop project, hows it lookin'?

thoughts, comments welcomed.

Evil Lu 24th September 2005 14:32

On b3ta we call that 'seamless'.;)
You can see the edges, see the raindrop tool on your palette? That's the blur tool, rub it round the edges of the horse a bit. Also if you go to image on the top menus, you can adjust contrast, colours, hue and saturation to get the most natural effect.
It's a good start though. :D

tuckerm 24th September 2005 14:55

kk try this:

Evil Lu 24th September 2005 14:58

It's improving, but Mr Horse is looking like he is in more daylight than the trees. You're doing a good job though, it takes a lot of getting used to does Photoshop.
I've been using it for three years now and still don't know how all the tools work. :)

tuckerm 24th September 2005 15:01

shiznat forgot the lighting, brb then

Schmeet 24th September 2005 15:12

Use the pen tool for masking and what not. It might take you a while to get used to but it will make a huge difference in the quality of work.
