Yeh mate i got a Belkin routor.
Theres 2 ways you could try. 1. Set up a DMZ to your Computer 2. in the sc_serv.ini file change the port to 3245 (as 8000 is not Normally open) |
thanks for the reply mate ! i tried dmz and that didnt work (within router settings) and sorry im unsure about this " in the sc_serv.ini file change the port to 3245 (as 8000 is not Normally open)" could you tell me how ? , and maybe about dmz as i just enabled it in the router.
Thanks Andy |
Don't use DMZ unless you've got a really good firewall running (which would then need configuring). Software firewalls, including the XP one are not a *good thing* in general.
DMZ = demilitarised zone , the router will allow everyone and anyone to connect to your pc. You'll get seriously hacked. Put it back to NAT immediately! You should have enabled port forwarding on your router, not port triggering, I think this maybe where your problem lies. Also, depending on ISP, you may need a higher port range as some ISPs block them. You would add this to the router and to the DNAS config (the sc_serv.ini file). Don't forget to also put this new port in the DSP on Winamp. A restart of the router and computer after changing things is always a wise idea. |
