Just Strolling By......

The up's and downs of an internet week.......

Was just re-newing one of my sites and just as me thinks everything is going well -- yeah right *growls gently*

but on an up - one of the sites I host on a charity/help out type of prject, Firemonger(http://www.firemonger.org) was mentioned on '/.', (Slashdot), so I finish the week on an up....

Kinda pleased that Firemonger is getting on so well, hopefully I should be able to move them to there own name server soon, which will be a lot better for them I think.....

Still I gotta say fair do's to the guy's for doing all the volunteer work....

So whats been happening in your 'Internet Week'?

:)

After a few months I finally fixed the link to my forums on my website. I'm still using two different hosts for some vague reason.. (or just call it lazyness)

Hello too you as well Alida :p :D

It's the part of time that you allocate to Internet use in any given week - hence 'Internet Week',

You could allways associate it to the 'Internet Month' but then ....

ok I'll shut up now ... :tinfoil:

btw: link to the slashdot article should anyone be interested

Datacenter burned down, lost several years of forums and guestbook databases (backups were fucked, lost, something)

Lost all content from my coding site..

Got a new polling system on my station, added music.

Which datacenter is this? I didn't hear of it.

protegechris 19th October 2005 05:15

No idea. Housed crap things here: http://lvcs.net/ (scroll to bold text)

Probably an excuse for the guy erasing his HDD or something :p

MStar 19th October 2005 05:17

I call bullshit. I would have known. Datacenters don't just "burn down" unless it's some kid's basement.

I installed an Wiki on one of my websites for plugin developers that want to interact with my site Mobile-Favorites.com. I have been working on the main code for this site and I plan on making my own Firefox plugin for the site. Then once the site goes live (by the looks of it, it might not be until the end of the month or the end of November), then I will start e-mailling off press releases and all sorts of other stuff.

:D

I drew a picture in paint of a rabbit with a pancake on it's head. I then sent it to this girl who wanted it, after that I made myself some toast, then I went on a four hour car ride. Fun.

@ Duane - Let me have a copy of the plug-in when you have it finished and we'll include it in our Firemonger package - maybe even as a 'Special Feature' or some such....

I just noticed on the main site that we've got a 'Softpedia' 5/5 award thingy - Things are getting better each week :)

Well, I still have to develop the site first so that I can have user based favorites. But yeah, once I have finished the plug-in, then, you can add it to Firemonger, cause then, that would be awesome!
