Some idiot computer wizards
 

I've got really intelligent computer geeks as my friends. Here are some of their comments:

1. 'xp' in Windows xp stands for 'eXperienced Proffesional' software.

2. Bill gates was the inventor of the internet.

3. Dust on your floppy causes viruses.

4. Not shutting down windows properly will cause the computer wires to melt and sometimes might cause a blast. Shutting it down starts the fans which cool the system first.

5. "Don't worry pal, I can do that. Anyways, my dad once taught me how to install DirectX 9.0c"

And now, I call upon the real winners:

6. "My computer runs on a pentium 7. Russia has launched Pentium 9 and U.S.A has launched Pentium 11".

7. Windows was made using the HTML programming language.

Well, skryingbreath, there are things we aren't good it. Similarly my friends aren't good at computers. I don't blame their illeteracy, but the flaunt value they are showing: showing that they know much more. However, we cannot slap them as no one knows everything in this world.

I know everything I've come in contact with/experienced, I just can't remember most of it. and yes we can slap them. we aren't slapping them beause they are dumb. we are slapping them because they are saying they are dumber than they think/say they are, which makes them dumber^10 than someone with the same amount of knowledge but knows they are dumb

however, this may be a ruse. your friends are pretending to be dumber than they really are to catch you unsuspecting, then BAM they pwn your computer and you're shitonastick

yeah i understand. I'm just saying if they flaunt it about then the deserve some type of "punishment" so to speak :)

Is it really that people are computer illiterate or is it that operating systems suck.

Computers should be a lot easier to use.

Windows and Mac computers are definitely easy to use, designed for idiots. Unfortunately there are clever-idiots out there who create nasty viruses, spyware and adware to ruin the normal-idiots computing experience.
Linux is somewhat safer and is becoming more idiot-friendly these days but most people have the fear of command lines so don't get round to changing from their happy point-and-click existence (obviously not realising that modern *nix is mainly point-and-click) ;).

I'd argue with you, Lu, but we already have a thread about that.

Man... well, something's are just to be thought about practically. If my friend new even a bit of HTML is, he could have easily made it out that windows ain't built using that. Which in case clearly proves that he was faking it all...

Always room for improvement. Why can't my computer parse my words yet and build tasks based on what I tell it? It's gotta be possible, english is just another language.

Why wont it make my coffee? and light my cigarrette and find my keys and <insert mundane task here> ?

Why not cut to the chase and have it jerk you off as well? That would certainly save time, and energy!
