Modern Skin Problems
 

I just Installed winamp 5.12 and went through the skin index and re downloaded all the skins I had before. The only skin that seems to work is the MMD3 skin. All the modern skins I downloded will not show on the player. When I select them in the skin menu it switches the player to the classic view and thats it. Can anybody shed any light on why this is happening and how to fix it?

No luck? Please provide system specs.

All files are saving as .wal files. I ran the hijackthis and thats sttached with the system specs at the bottom. I believe thats all you need. At least I hope so.

I'd say window washer is also your problem

Hmm, the only known issue with Window Washer is that (unless it's configured not do so) it deletes winamp.ini, which of course causes Winamp to reset to default settings every time it's opened. I can't see how that can affect Winamp from not loading modern skins... though you never know.

You should also attach a my_plugins_list.txt file (see "system specs" link for details).

I went through that other post... I did the thing with the INI file but it was already what was listed there... I took winamp off my windows washer so that way it wont do winamp when it runs. Still no dice.

I dont have any plug ins at all.... I just downloaded the free 5.12 bundle. I also downloaded a few skins. The holiday 2005, MMD3, and a few others.... The MMD3 loads just fine and every function works. It just seemd to be the skins for the modern format. I havent tried downloading anything classic so I'm not sure if those would work or not.

So I'm not sure now... wondering if I should try to uninstall it and re download winamp and see if that helps any?

I mainly wanted to see your plugin list so I can see if you've got all the latest versions of the default plugins which come with Winamp 5.12 Full.

I'm not sure what happened but its all fixed now... I tried that stuff on the other post that Mr.Jones posted... tried the skins and nothing. So I rebooted tried the skins again and still nothing worked... so I went in and deleted all the skins... Re booted one more time then re downloaded the skins and they work fine now.. Thanks for all the help.

Oh I'm sorry... I seen a few other posts saying that downloaded plug in may be the problem. So I kinda thought thats what you were talking about. Everything seemss to be working fine now Though.. Not sure what fixed it but several reboots and deleting the skins then re downloading them worked.

Sounds like the initial .wal downloads were incomplete or corrupt.
