Need: Sorted list and random play except with enqueued files
Ok first of all let me just say I did look at all the FAQs/Troubleshooting/Read-This-First stuff before posting.
This is kind of a minor inconvenience so I wouldn't think there'd be much about it. Also it's only a preference discrepancy so I didn't figure a HijackThis log was required. ;] Anyway here's what I am trying to accomplish: 1) I want my list sorted by my sorting method of choice. 2) I want my list to play completely randomly (i.e. prefereably actually random, not shuffled because of the "age old shuffle problem"). 3) I want the random function to turn off when I have songs enqueued and back on when all the songs on the enqueued list are played. Currently, I have the following problems: 1) If shuffle is on, it overrides the enqueued songs list and plays a song from anywhere on the playlist. 2) If I randomize the list (to avoid problem 1) the list is not in any kind of comprehensible order. If there is a topic that solves this entire problem, please leave a link to it. If there is a plugin that solves this entire problem, please leave a link to it. If you know how to completely solve this problem, I would greatly appreciate the knowledge. Please don't give me a fix that only solves part of the problem or nothing will really be solved and your post will be in vain. Thanks in advance. Matt |
Hmm. It really doesn't seem like this should be complicated. Go figure.

I got a bit confused about this part:
Quote:
Are you referring to the enqueue function of the Extended Jump to File plugin? (press J to show the JTF dialog) If so, I don't quite see how shuffle would override that enqueue list... For me, enqueued songs are played first, no matter whether shuffle is enabled or not. |
Yes I was referring to the enqueue function of the JTF dialog. Well, apparently you are right. I just tried it out and the enqueued list is indeed playing first. I could have sworn that it didn't however, at the time I posted last.
So I guess that point is no longer valid. However accomplishments 1 and 2 of the original post are still currently impossible simultaneously to my knowledge. |

i'm not sure quite what else you're trying to request from the other parts of your post since it seems to be duplicating itself -daz |
