Missing ptc.dll causing crashes

Earlier this evening I tried to access the preferences menu in Winamp 5.11, only to have an error message telling me that the program could not initialize due to ptc.dll missing. The program then crashed. Repeated actions, same result. I then downloaded version 5.12, installed it, and tried accessing the preferences menu. Received the same error message about ptc.dll missing, after which the program crashed.
Additionally, about a month ago my copy of Winamp developed a problem with playlists; it would play a list, but once the list was completed, clicking the play button would result in only the last song played to be played once, after which the program would stop playback. I would have to clear the playlist and then reload the playlist I'd been listening to if I wished to listen to more than one song from that list. This problem has continued with version 5.12, and may or may not be related to the missing ptc.dll file. I use Win XP Pro, and did full installations of both Winamp 5.11 and 5.12. If any more information is needed, I shall be happy to provide it.

Well, Winamp doesn't use a ptc.dll files. So chances are it might be some third party plugin that wants it and is causing all the problems. So, try a full uninstall and reinstall which will remove any third-party plugins that may be installed.
