Winamp 5.12 Lite hangs

I installed twice Winamp 5.12 Lite in this Tochiba Satellite Pro 4290 with W2K (fully updated).

In both ocasions Winamp hangs the computer when it starts. Nothing shows up (message, deck, etc). The machine just hangs (no blue screen).

Can someone help?
