Want to stream MP3 to multiple Windows PCs
I'm kinda new to Winamp and I'm trying to figure out if I can use it to set up my own private mp3 streams that I can tune into on my other 4 computers around the house connected on the wireless network. I don't especially want to create a public stream, just one that the other machines can access.
I've looked at Icecast and Oddcast, but I'm not sure those are what I need? I tried configuring Oddcast, but it kept saying "unable to connect to socket" or something. Can anyone help pls? |
Using SHOUTcast the audio will not sycn up, which might be find if you aren't going to be hearing music from two PCs at once. You might want to try a plugin like NetSycn.

Thanks drewbar, but I want to be able to stream mp3s that are on my main computer to the other computers using shoutcast. isn't there a way to do this with icecast or something? I've been fiddling with Icecast but I can seem to figure out the xml config file so that it just broadcasts on my internal net.

http://www.shoutcast.com/
Install the server and DSP. If you need help check the stick threads at the top of the SHOUTcast Forums. And just to restate, the audio will not sync up on the other computers. |
