I was at the grocery store last week. The man in front of me purchased 13 packages of bacon. I've been trying to think of what you would need 13 packages of bacon for. My first thought was a large breakfast the next morning but that is wrong as he bought a loaf of bread, pop/cola/soda, cigarettes, tuna, soup and random other stuff.

Why would you need to buy that much bacon?

So you don't have to buy more bacon later? And just because he didn't buy other breakfast items, doesn't mean he is out at home. Perhaps he was out of his stock of bacon. Perhaps some of his kids friends are staying over and he's going to fix them a bunch of bacon, biscuits and eggs in the morning? Maybe he's going fishing and going to use bacon as bait?

Maybe he's got stock in Oscar Meyer.

Maybe it was on sale.

On sale super cheap and he has a freezer?. I don't think I ever bought 13 pounds, but I've bought 5 before....

I gave up the bacon and eggs cuz the doc told me my cholesterol was too high, but 4 eggs and a half pound used to be breakfast...

And anti cholesterol drugs are really spendy....

Perhaps he just works at a restaurant or eaterie and they needed bacon, and he decided to get a bit of his own shopping at the same time.
