Who's the girl on your website?
Is she your vocalist?

Mattress 24th January 2006 14:26

music's not bad, make some instrumental versions and I'll dig it more.

You picked the wrong forum, we have a grand total of one trance addict (and he's already posted). :D

I do like Trance, though I don't consider myself addicted.
Don't know much outside of Paul Van Dyk, Ferry Corsten, DJ Tiesto and Astral Projection.

I'll listen to the track when I have time.

I don't know if I'd consider myself much of an addict anymore. Most of the new trance doesn't do it for me. It seems like the producers are just cranking it out as fast as possible and not spending time composing beautiful songs anymore. The new stuff is usually built around one single music theme/chord progression. The old good stuff had multiple themes/progressions that intermixed and created a depth of sound and musical experience that I don't see much of anymore.

Maybe I just don't listen to enough of it anymore to find the diamonds in the rough like I used to do...

mysterious_w 25th January 2006 22:23

To be honest, I find it all shit.

Mattress 26th January 2006 02:36

thanks for your wonderful critique :P

If trance was a golf course, the fairway would be a 10cm wide strip.

You'd need plenty of stamina, not to mention patience.

papadoc 26th January 2006 15:27

Actually, for vocal trance it's pretty good.
But nothing that really seperates it from all the rest.
And that's not criticism of thegirlnextdoor.
It's just symptomatic of today's dance music as a whole, in my opinion.

I like Trance.

Cylob 26th January 2006 20:12

That's right, everyone come out of the trance closet (as it's pretty crowded in there anyway).

Yeah, but there's dance music, and dance music.

That's a pretty tight trolling there if you don't associate a smiley with it.

Are you saying that I'm gay because I listen to Trance now and then?

There's no trolling in MOR, just various forms of antagonism. :p

How did you come to that conclusion? :hang:

ElChevelle 26th January 2006 22:37

Coming out of the closet, trance or otherwise, isn't a healthy term to use. You might get slapped by a man:p
Also, MOR differs from any other subforum here in Winamp. Even with your prolific posting here, do not assume that you are free to "antagonise" at will.

Cylob 27th January 2006 07:35

I hold Morrissey responsible....

papadoc 27th January 2006 13:02

Why won't they tell me who the girl is http://forums.di.fm/images/smilies/c...smiley-013.gif

BlueTape 30th January 2006 21:44

Good stuff guys, hope your work becomes very successful!

:) thank you !!!!

Too-DAMN-Much 15th March 2006 15:30

there is a button specifically for what you just did... not trying to critisize here, just that last post was incredibly confusing :D

i'm sorry to say this, but that sucked, get some lessons from the now defunct, daft-punk.. :)
the singer's voice is nice though...

Doggy Dog 15th March 2006 15:42

I used to be into trance a lot for a while. Haven't heard anything "new" in what, 2,3 years.

This is above (the unfortunately low) average, really. Not good enough to get me back into Trance, but you can hear far worse stuff around.

And, umm.... why "The Girl Next Door" when only there are only two guys in the group. Ok, so you use female singers, but the name'd make way more sense if you had a "prominent" and permanent female singer. Just my 2 lp.
