Speakers Not Working

I got got this new computer which has 6-Channel (5.1) AC'97 Audio and Amplified Stereo Speakers. My question just pertains to the speakers. The kind of speakers i have hook up using a USB Port and a Regular attachment. The USB Port is for power and the Regular attachment is for listening, which you probably already know this. I have already checked the Options/Preferences/Output and it is set as DirectSound output v2.42(d) however my speakers are not playing. I can hook them up to my Headphones jack in the front and they work just fine, but when i have them plugged into the back they don't seem to work.

Also in case this makes a difference, I believe i already have Internet Explorer 6 or higher, because when i tried to install it, it stated that i already had a newer version. Also i believe my computer already comes with Service Pack 2.

Do i just need to update the Sound, and if so where can i find it. If it is located at microsoft where at, because i already checked under the Microsoft Updates, and it didn't show up.

try enabling all the speakers in the control panel > sound. i dont think you need any updates it's probably just a setting in windows. i'm not really sure what your doing. give it a look if you haven't already.

Speakers Not Working

I found out how to fix the problem. I muted the Line-In under the volume controls and that fixed the problem.
