Hello Kitty Laptop
|
Blimey, so not only did they use wet sandpaper on it , followed by washing it down, almost certainly guaranteed to fritz your machine should you get it slightly wrong, they then managed to spray paint the panel as well.
Man, that's asking for trouble, they must have been swimming at the shallow end of the gene pool that day. |
Wrong, wrong, wrong!
You disassemble the damn thing before painting any of the case. Strip it down to where it's just the shell before attempting any of that. That's a very poor tutorial. |
yes its a poor tutorial but the idea....since she liked that hello kitty car photoshop

As far as case mods go, it is utter shit.

awesome!
Thanks :) |
I dunno, I think this would be an example of what NOT TO DO to your poor laptop. Having been a technician, I would recommend that you do not disassemble your laptop. It's bad enough getting them back together when you MUST take them apart for repairs.... and when you have years of experience.
Taking them apart for no reason is just asking for expensive trouble. I saw on ebay and elsewhere that they had some cool "kitty" pinstripes and stuff for cars. I think if you got out a razor and wanted to get creative, you could probably do a pretty good stripe job, w/o being so invasive to the machine. |
I like being invasive.
|
I do too.
It's also a matter of your personal abilities. I was the first person qualified in Georgia by IBM to provide field engineering and system engineering for the IBM Thinkpad line of notebook computers. I've taken so many PCs of all types completely apart and reassembled them that I've forgotten more about doing it than most of today's hardware techs may ever learn. They just need a disclaimer on that website, that's all. "No disassembly of the PC should be done by anyone except persons authorized or at least very knowledgeable on the subject." Something along those lines. Or maybe just "Idiots beware." I like that one because it belongs everywhere. ;) |

We often overestimate what's "common" in the realm of sense.
|
I stuffed a V8 into a Vega back in the day. No easy task but if I could pull that one off I could probably mutilate a laptop with ease.
