Did the winamp forums feel some slashdot effect?

Just wondering, I know there was an exploit bug in the last version of Winamp, did the rush for patches and info take down the forums earlier today?

Don't know, something is making the site crap out, it's not just here on the forums, there are other parts of the site that don't seem to be responding as they should.

Matter has been brought to the attention of admin.

It looks like it might be a DNS issue. If it is running really slow for you try: http://waforumweb-dtc0l-0.winamp.com/
Worked here and for a few in #winamptech

Oh damn, and for a moment I got slashdot confused with Something Awful and thought we were shitty/cool enough to be featured on the Weekend Web.

Aww. Such disappointment. It is blue. Like my popsicle.

Should be fixed now, or soonish. Waiting on DNS updates.

Seems better now.

Life can continue, cellar dwellers:p

Yeah it seemed like going to the site was extremely slow but once DNS was found it worked fine

tuckerm 31st January 2006 21:44

didnt get to feel any effect :D

Could a DNS error be influencing USC university internet services? Because our internet service has been crapping out the last two days, and that's quite a coincidence.

Commander Data slipped on a banana peel on the holodeck and accidentally stabbed Counselor Troy with his metalipenis but that shouldn't have caused an anomaly in the space-time continuum.

Mr Jones 31st January 2006 22:07

Ya, but Troy walked bow legged for a week....

ElChevelle 31st January 2006 22:10

I meant when Data slipped not me;)
