good hiphop for a kid?

I was looking into positive hiphop for my young sister (shes 9) so i thought jammx might be worthwhile, they push positive influence like eating healthy and excercising and they do a good job of it the way they dance its very energetic. I was hoping some of this positive influence might be good for her.

CMon drop some names! Any thing that is relatively positive, with a good beat, no swearing... etc, jammx seems to fit the bill perfectly so far.

There's positive Hip-Hop?

Wow.

Seriously, I don't think a lot of people on these boards listen to hip-hop a whole lot.

Yep :)

Olympic Lifts, maybe? I can't say I've listened to enough to know whether to recommend them for kids, but they're generally upbeat and cool. :)

I'll definatly look into them thanks for the help guys, its kind of obscure i know I just thought it would be cool to find more positive hiphop like jammxkids. Im sure it exists but for now jammx will keep her happy.

Yo are you sure its a tv show? The site mentions something about their DVD being released, and amazon has it listed as coming out on the 29th of this month.

It is.
I saw it listed on my directv guide yesterday morning as part of their juvenile Saturday morning lineup. When I was a kid, we watched cartoons all morning.

Hiphop for kids sounds like an oxymoron to tell you the truth. Public Enemy is the only thing close that I'd unleash on any young human ears. Music with a message:up:

Jammxkids seem very positive! I checked the website and they are extremely talented. I think i might even check out the dvd for my lil sister, she'd like this stuff

Public enemy for kids? Well, i dunno in this case I would be keeping it REALLY clean, i hear you its pretty much an oxymoron but with stuff like jammx thats got all clean material I think they break that image. Thanks for the info on that show btw...

Sad that Hip Hop has such a negative connotation attached to it. Personally I don't enjoy many mainstream hip hop groups. I do appreciate JammX though, not only for their immense talent but because they are one of the few groups that have a positive message for kids and that's really important IMO.

Something that our society lacks enough of anymore.

zootm 30th March 2006 21:45

Agreed.

That said, my band has a song that, to the best of my knowledge, is about rape. So I guess I can't really endorse such high moral ground. ;)
