Error connecting to yp.shoutcast.com
 

am new to all this and i have checked over the forums and i havent found anything relating specifically to this problem, my setup is ICS, the main PC downstairs host's the server (which i connect to the internet through) and my pc runs winamp. my pc is on a static IP while the downstairs PC runs a dynamic IP (damn adsl dialup connection).

and it just continues giving me the connection error to yp.shoutcast.com.


any suggestions ?

could be a yp problem, can you give us a link to test:

to get your *puplic* ip go to www.whatismyip.com

I can access it and stream it a few seconds. Than it is buffering. Do you have enough bandwith for 96 Kbps ?

have just reduced quality of stream to, 32Kbps, the music is skipping though, im sure i have read about that somewhere though

can a few ppl please just test for me ?, i have had 1 other person connect ok and listen, if ya dont hear anything the net conn might have disconnected itself and should re-open soon, i just want a couple of ppl to say yeah its fine, hopefully i have got it sussed even though i still have the same error with "[yp_add] error connecting to yp.shoutcast.com"

yep .... works fine.

Do not get too bent out of shape about the yp error; it can be picky at times. Give it a day or to...

i dont know how to change my station name in using the winamp version 5.13 (the new one) and i dont know what to tell people to do so they can listen to my station im a newbee as you might as guessed lol

it should be in the dsp plugin under the output tab. Click the yellowpages button and enter the name under description.
