Winamp freezes computer hard reboot

I have been using winamp for quite a long time but recently winamp will freeze my computer and I have to hard reboot to get things rolling again.
This usualy happens either right after a skip a song or when I play with the position in the song i.e. skipping to the middle by dragging the marker.
This happens with both music and video, and it happens often.
On rarer occations winamp will just freeze on its own and I will have to hard reboot. This happens usualy around the 1-5 hour mark of constant listening.

My specs
Pentium D 830 @ 3.1Ghz
ASUS P5-ND2 SLi Deluxe
eVGA 7800 GT x2 in SLi
2.75 GB RAM (4GB installed but XP Pro will only see 2.75)
Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS gamer edition

All drivers fully updated DX updated running newest Winamp
Search yealded nothing.

Did you install any 3rd-party plugins?
Have you tried a clean install of the latest version? (i.e. 5.2)

A HijackThis log could be useful as well.

IanTheRed 10th March 2006 00:58

No 3rd party plug ins
Yes to clean install
heres your log

I didn't notice anything special in your log...

I recall having read about this issue before (around the time of 5.09), but I cannot find the threads anymore :/

[edit]
Yes, found it... Back then it appeared to be a problem with the WMA input plugin.
http://forums.winamp.com/showthread....30#post1690830

So you could try disabling in_wm.dll to see if that's the problem here as well...

[edit2]
Heh, Winamp 5.21 has just been released, with minor bug fixes to in_wm.dll, so you could try upgrading:

My last winamp version working is 5.094. All later versions freeze windows 98SE.
