Live365 and winamp problem
I searched as well as i could, hope this hasn't been covered. If so please understand I didn't see it.
I am using a creative 4.1 system with an audigy 2 SB. Never had a single problem with this setup until now. I d/l'd winamp to listen to live 365 as an alternative to thier pro player. Upon listening to some trancy techno, I noticed the front 2 channels were getting some distortion in the high frequencies. It only occurs with winamp. It's a popping fuzzy click... as if the speakers were blown but they aren't. My first recourse was to switch the front 2 channel speakers with the rear 2, and the front 2 channels still were distorted. This rules out speakers being blown (and anyway they sound fine outside winamp.) I have updated drivers. Anyone have an idea whats going on here? Thanks for your time. |
Hi. What's your Windows OS and DirectX version?
http://forums.winamp.com/showthread....d=161361#specs Have you tried the DirectSound Output tweaks from the FAQ? No sound, skippy/choppy/crackly playback, high VM usage, etc. http://forums.winamp.com/showthread....26#post1212926 << http://forums.winamp.com/showthread.php?threadid=166479 |
I figured out the problem. In Live365 there is a little button to the right... its pretty easy to overlook, called listen settings.
I had to change the setting there from radio365 (or player365) to "MP3 Player – iTunes, MusicMatch, Winamp or similar". Works great now :) Sorry to have bothered you, winamp is a great product. |
Ahhh. Ok... cool!
