"Winamp Media File" association problem
I installed Winamp and it converted all of the mp3 files on my computer to read as "winamp media files". They still play fine, but I cant transfer them to things like my cell phone and mp3 player now! Why would it do this and how do I change it? I would still like to keep the mp3 files associated with winamp.

I think they're still mp3 files. Configure Windows to show file extensions and you'll see.
http://nunzioweb.com/misc/show_file_extensions.htm "Winamp Media File" just means that that file type is associated with Winamp, i.e. it will open in Winamp when you double-click it. It doesn't tell you anything about the format the file is in (mp3/wav/ogg/etc...). |
