"Winamp Media File" association problem
 

I installed Winamp and it converted all of the mp3 files on my computer to read as "winamp media files". They still play fine, but I cant transfer them to things like my cell phone and mp3 player now! Why would it do this and how do I change it? I would still like to keep the mp3 files associated with winamp.

I think they're still mp3 files. Configure Windows to show file extensions and you'll see.

"Winamp Media File" just means that that file type is associated with Winamp, i.e. it will open in Winamp when you double-click it. It doesn't tell you anything about the format the file is in (mp3/wav/ogg/etc...).
