ID3 in version 5.21
 

I could not find any reference in these forums to ID3 tag disabling in version 5.21. Is there ANY way to disable reading of ID3 tags at all in this release of winamp???

Yes, by setting the Advanced Title Formatting in Prefs > Titles to:

$filepart(%filename%)

(assuming you just want it to display the filename instead)

ok i tried it but i could not figure ou the syntax for it to just display the filename only and not the path. i tried %filename% and it gave me c:\...mp3s\mp3name.mp3. I'm just wondering if there was any way u could get winamp to just display mp3name.mp3 and not the path (c:\....)
