saving streaming audio from radio

Someone told me I could use Winamp to save the radio shows I want to hear as mp3's. I like to listen to NPR All Things Considered and Fresh Air, but when I click to listen to them, from their websites, they only open up Windows Media Player or Real Player to play the selected show I've chosen...and I can't see how to save that file. It seems to just be streaming audio from their site. So that's why this person told me I could use WinAmp to save the file as mp3. I haven't been able to figure out to do that. I want to save files (old shows) from their websites from the past, NOT currently playing - present time streaming audio off the internet radio. Can I do this? I just installed WinAmp so I could. I DID spend some time searching for this answer before I posted by the way. Sorry if I missed it.

Thanks,
Katrina

Sorry, although it is not streamed live NPR Archives is streaming audio (at least from what I see at NPR.org). As, indicated in the forum rules we can not dispense information on stream-ripping (AKA saving or recording streams). Regardless NPR audio is copyrighted content and that makes things rather iffy.

Nothing against you katrina108, but in accordance of the rules this thread is locked.
