Good day,
I am contacting you to solicite for your assistance in resolving a pressing problem.
My name is MRS.KATRINA VALDEZ from PHILIPPINES. I lost my husband and my only daughter in the Tsunami disaster. Before their untimely death, my husband deals on vine business.
Presently, I am having a big problem with my late husband’s brothers because of the wealth and landed properties my husband left behind. They forced me to release all his banks information and other important documents about his landed properties. They did not stop there, they are monitoring my movements till today to the extent that I can not go out freely nor answer or make telephone calls. They can only give me foods and shelter and nothing else. I can understand that with such treatment, their plan is to do away with my life so that they can feel comfortable with what they snatched from me. It is because of this problem that I decided to contact you for a help to rescue me from this ugly situation before I die here.
Because of my relationship with my late husband, he told me before his death about money he has in the Europe where he goes to do his vine business. The money was in a box deposited in a security and finance company in EUROPE and the amount is US$4.5m. He made me to understand that the money was deposited as a family valuable for security reasons. The brothers of my late husband is not aware of this deposit and I will never tell them about that.I am therefore seeking for your assistance to help me secure the money from company to your country for investment.
Once I got your response to help me, I will respond with the details on how we should do this.:katrina_valde@yahoo.com.ph
I shall be waiting for your swift response.
Sincerely yours,
Katrina Valdez

Don't feel bad...I don't get PMs here anymore either, for the most part.

Well, it's mostly because if there's someone here I want to talk to in private - or if someone wants to talk to me - we pick up the phone and call each other.

xzxzzx 26th April 2006 17:20

... I keep my inbox full. So I can therefore reject any tech support requests I might get (which are really none).

dlinkwit27 26th April 2006 17:26

I would reply with, "I'll be happy to help. But I have a 'special' bank account that requires third-party authorization by phone. If you'll call the following number, my bank will be happy to provide all of my account information to you --> (404)679-9000. I look forward to doing business with you!"

That phone number reaches the FBI field office in Atlanta, Georgia.

Mattress 27th April 2006 21:02

you don't need a PIN to deposit money in an account. I'm pretty sure most banks will let anyone deposit money into any account they want to.

It's withdrawing money where they need to have some ID.

swingdjted 27th April 2006 21:19

banks will demand a pin before giving you a receipt for the deposit though, and often will ask for a pin on a depo if it's a large amount, as it prevents people from being framed for crime

I've got a good link for you... not one of mine, but very good nonetheless: www.scambuster419.co.uk

Ya, I got one too, but not a PM, I got mine emailed directly to me from the winamp forums. I feel as though I have completed one more vital step on the path to being a self-reflexive being of pure inter-nets. I think I sent them a link to my "personal details" that was actually a link to a trojan that gives you the horrible Spy-Axe malware.

---{edit}---
I sent it to them on my spam address, because well, they're dodgy dodgy dodgy. I don't actually answer anything that comes in on that address. All I do is block everyone in my inbox every now and then.
