got new winamp, now mp3s don't open

So after winamp bugging me every day to download the latest version, I finally did.

Now mp3s don't open.

I click on them and NOTHING happens. It shows the little hourglass for a second and then nothing.

I have windows xp...Winamp for me has always been slow (awfully slow) but this is the first time mp3s just plain won't even open.

Help?? Please!!

Is Enqueue enabled???
1. Winamp > Ctrl+P
2. General Preferences > File Types
3. uncheck 'Enqueue files on double click in Windows Explorer"

DCOM Server Process Launcher issue with WinXP SP2 | (suggested fix).

No luck or the above is not it? We will need additional system specs...As for the seed issues...

The DCOM thing didn't work.

I can't try the "enqueue" thing because winamp won't open. At all. If I click on the winamp agent it does the same thing that happens when I click on an mp3...the hourglass comes up for a second, then nothing happens.

My system:

Please include all relevant system specs, including:
-PC
-DELL, PENTIUM 3, 930 MHZ & 256 MB of RAM
-Sound card: external m-audio
-Windows XP service pack 2
-DirectX version: 9.0C
-Winamp version: the latest one
-Bundle version
-Whether you chose 'separate' or 'shared' user settings on the multi-user page - ???? I don't know.

Winamp has always been ok, it wasn't till I updated to the latest bundle that it won't work.

Have you tried doing a clean-install?
If the last version of winamp you were running was pre 5.20, there's a good chance that the cause of your problem is a 3rd party plug-in that is no longer compatible with winamp.

Instructions for a Full uninstall > reinstall (AKA Clean Install) of Winamp.

No luck? Please provide a HijackThis log. Download links for HjT and instructions for posting a log can be found in the required info link. If this is the first time you have heard of HijackThis, don't be bother by the name. It is not as bad as it sounds.

Just letting everyone know --

The quick uninstall/reinstall did the trick.

Thanks!!
