Hosting a server without going into DMZ mode?

I tried to run a Christmas radio station a long while back and the only way I could run my station was to turn my PC into a DMZ. This is quite dangerous/unhealthy/vulernable, and I want to run a station again, but I have no knowledge of doing so safely. Basically what I've done so far is follow what X/Y/Z guides say: 1) I've downloaded and installed the plugin and the shoutcast server gui. 2) I've set my IP to be static through my internet options (it says it's 192.168.0.192) 3) I left my SERVER.INI file to contain the SrcIP and DestIP to be any. 4) I went into my router and forwarded ports 7026 and 7027 (the ones I'm using for shoutcast) to IP 192.168.0.192. 5) I launch the server, but it says [Source] 127.0.0.1 and when I go to whatismyip.com and try to do the ip:port to see my server it errors out. However 127.0.0.1:7026 works perfectly for me. What do I do <_> |
www.portforward.com
They will help you setup your router.... just find it on their site and follow the steps :) |
also you use the 192.168.0.192 address to connect.
listeners from the internet use the address that whatismyip.com shows ~ D |
