help with sc_trans @ admin login problem

hey all :)
im running on my server shoutcast-1-9-5-linux + sc_trans_posix_040.
now all is fine, the sc_trans is running real good 24\7 with the broadcaster password.
but for some reason, when i open my winamp shoutcast plug-in and try to connect with my admin password, it doesn't let me.. i must shut down sc_trans.
now i dont wanna do it that way...
i know that some stations run sc_trans, and when the admin wanna go up and broadcast he just login with his admin pass and connects and broadcasting, and then when he's finished and disconnects the sc_trans is automatically goes back online...
how can i do that?

thanks alot for those who will help me :)

PA.. Here's the problem.

the server process sc_serv , can only have one source connected at a time. So you would have to stop sc_trans, and then connect with winamp dsp. This is by design, and normal. Whatever other 'admins' are running somehow kills sc_trans if that is what they are running, to left Winamp connect. So most likely they have a script that allows them to login which kills the sc_trans process for a few seconds so winamp can connect. Of course with winamp connect sc_trans will not connect, but can try over and over so the seconds winamp disconnect sc_trans owns the show.

Hope that sums it up.

oh shit so there is nothing to do ? :(

the thing is that: im running an online radio with some dj's and that, and i want the radio to run 24\7 without my shutting down and running the sc_trans all the time.. no way i can do that?

well, you could have the dj's kill sc_trans. Then you could setup a cron job to check if sc_trans is running about ever 5 min. If the dj is still connected and sc_trans can't, then you would tell cron to exit nicely and check back in five min.

Server side, when the DJ disconnects, you are going to have dead air until the cron job runsand starts sc_trans again. However, this can be avoided via the use of a backup file that you specify in sc_serv. The result being, when the DJ disconnects, sc_serv looses its source and kicks on the backup file; then when cron runs the sc_trans job, sc_trans will kick back in and start feeding sc_serv a source.

I know it is a lot of work, but that is about the only way to do what I think you are trying to do.
