so what happened, was winamp.com Attacked?

From Midnight to to past noon today (fell asleep so don't know when winamp came back) I was unable and another and an AOL rep, was unable to access this site. Really it seemed like It would connect, about to download the site, but then nada, nothing. :( now its back and i am happy tho. I believed this was an attack, because when a site is updated either they only let one page show and that tells its customers what's going on, or disconnect the server from contact. In the latter I would get a Firefox cannot find the server/connect to the server error and say I either mispelled or the site in temp., unavailable..

Winamp.com was attacked by a ninja, a nazi, and a pots-and-pans-robot. The remains were eaten by a dinosaur.

zootm 14th May 2006 13:19

Well, it was happening again earlier today.

Mr_007 14th May 2006 14:04

I remember 3 years ago this site hacked.
also i dont think mods and admins dont authorize to any hacker that do a small or big change on this site.

k_rock923 14th May 2006 14:14

damn wally, breaking the frames. . .

007, once again i have had to read your post about four times before I have any idea what you were talking about. Of course the mods didn't authorize it. :igor:

Not saying you should be here, just wondering because all of you were gone tahts all :)

ujay 14th May 2006 16:25

That'll be the 'Secret Mods Party & Bunfight' weekend tucker.

It's a bit like the Gamekeepers Party, it can't be advertised in advance or the poachers know when it's safe to move.

I beleive this year's has a furry theme.

How would you know if I was here or not, seeing as I don't show in the online list, I might be watching your every post, silently editing, moving, locking, deleting and you wouldn't know it was me :)

tuckerm 14th May 2006 18:06

True, i guess it was a generalization because i've noticed silence from mods, i thought the winamp outage took your accounts too ;)

Yeah, those super sexy mods, especially that Jones fella, do things like that...quietly editing your posts and stuff.

They've even edited my posts to include something called a "hairy nipple", and they attached a picture of it to my nice and innocent posts! It's found its way into new member welcome threads, the boobie appreciation thread and the desktop thread.

Very disturbing, because I would NEVER do anything like that myself.

But you don’t take into account my super secret telepathic mod-monitoring powers.

You changed the name of one of my threads. You're so evil. :p

ScorLibran 15th May 2006 00:05

Evil or creative? Where does the line really exist?

gaekwad2 15th May 2006 00:07

They're synonymous.

fastingaciu 15th May 2006 00:10

You can be evil and creative in the same time and I think Jones is the perfect example.:D

W.I.A. Report::::::::

An all out attack of multiple registrations of Shabba Clones temporarily affected the site of the illustrious media player winamp today. The 'Shabba Cyber Clone' attack began around midnight last night with 100,000 sign ups in the first hour of the attack alone.

After emergency calls to Llama headquarters a DefCon1 alert was issued and the 'A.S.C.W.D.T., (Anti Shabba Clone Winamp Defence Team), were hastily issued the order 'Search and Irradicate'.

After a hard battle, many strips of bandaid to blisters finger tips, bandaging for massive repetive strain injury to the the fingers and wrists the team finally managed to bring the onslaught under control and slowly but surely the last remaining skulking pre - programmed sleepers were identified and ousted.

In a brief issued direct from Llama HQ itself thanks for the swift responce to the elite team of clone eradicators. Whilst most of the team were unavailable for comment because of some reason they can't at the moment hold phones or anything, (Something to do with sore fingers :weird: )..

End W.I.A. Report
