idea to remove crap posts.
 

I assure you as you read this it's not a crap post, this is my idea for getting rid of crap posts:

1. ok you post something
2. you see your post and read whether its crap or not.
3. you rate the post in a descriptive manner, (bad, medium, excellent) sort of thing.
4. your post is then factored by a percentage.

so if:
this post = bad, then its worth 0.33 posting points, or post count..

or if this post = medium then its worth
0.50 posting points.

or if its worth 1.0 points it would an excellent post.

there might be a few flaws in my posting `vote` process and you might need four ... poor, average, medium and then excellent. so it balances it out. but either way i would like this idea to be put into the forums after this thread has finished so it actually works :D it would also eliminate a lot of clutter and spam from e.g. myself or tuckerm.

How would it eliminate a lot of clutter and spam? Even if the post only counts for 0.33 post, it's still there, right?

Or do you mean you won't make a post if it's only worth 0.33 post? (and thus admit that you are just postpumping?) :weird:

with the thread i re-thought it and was to lazy to delete three and instead put four, as i added it onto the thread
but if someones post count was worth less, i just think that someone is more likely to post better posts.

This is, without a doubt, the dumbest idea i have ever heard.

I have a better idea. A crapometer under your avatar, that is built based on your percentage of posts in the bin.

I like! And it wouldn't take *that* much work to implement either... ;) That, or change the "Custom Title" functionality to use this algorithm...

i suggest a little bin that gets bigger when the user posts
in the bin.

or if (bin posts)/(counting posts) is bigger 1 change the ct
to "bin veteran"

I never understood why people cared about their post counts to begin with...

typical. now that our admin and a mod suggested it, everybody is going to start brown nosing and jump on the bandwagon.

I was kidding.

But recycle bin posts dont count towards your over all post total, thus i post images and stuff. That also includes the counting to 1 million thread which i'm active in.

I have very few posts in the Bin (42 out of 4488) because I don't post in threads like this one.

Although you should make it smaller, like a small button.

Shrink signature tucker, it's bigger than your posts, which makes one or both of them pretty worthless.

I respect bin posters - those people know that their post count means nothing, since bin posts don't count. The bin can be fun too. If I cared about my post count I would never post there.

...and I say this knowing there's a good chance that this thread will probably be moved to the bin and my post count adjusted...
