Winamp's not playing video
 

I have just recently restored my pc, and when I reinstalled winamp, it does not play the video for my .avi movie files, only the sound. I tried downloading the latest DirectX to no avail, and also tried out a free codec (ffdac I believe it was called), but most files then had the sound all screwed up. How can I get some video back on my beloved winamp?
