YET ANOTHER problem with WA 5.22

OK, so I am running Win XP MCE, Admin access, Windows Classic theme (yes this might be important). When I start Winamp, I have it automatically go to the tray. I have the autohide taskbar option enabled, and when WA goes to the tray, I can't raise the taskbar (you will understand what I mean if you autohide the taskbar as well). The only way I can is by pushing the Winkey button. After I do it once, it's OK, but it's still really annoying. With all of these bugs in WA 5.22, I'm switching back to 5.21 until they're fixed, hopefully in WA 5.23

All of what bugs? There's more bugs in 5.21 than 5.22

I can't reproduced the problem here... then again, I'm not even sure if I understood the steps to reproduce it.

So what you're saying is...

1. Set Windows Taskbar to autohide
2. Set Winamp (in classic skin mode, not modern) to show in "system tray" only (via: winamp > prefs > general prefs)
3. Minimize Winamp to the tray, then close Winamp via the rt-click tray icon menu, so that next time you open winamp it should show as minimized in the systray only
4. Reopen Winamp

Are you saying that there should now be a problem with the Windows Taskbar not appearing from the autohide state when you mouseover it or something? If so, then I can't reproduce it.

No, no, the Windows theme is set to Classic. The Winamp theme is set to MMD3. Then you minimze it to tray. Close it, and when you open Winamp, you won't be able to raise the taskbar by mousing over it. You can only fix this by using the Winkey.

All of what bugs?
1. I had a problem with lag in the Jump To box at first (got that fixed)
2. My entire iPod's memory got cleared by Winamp 5.22 (biggest problem)
3. This problem

DJ Egg 28th May 2006 16:58

Urgghh, I'm not even going to attempt to use the old ugly Windows Classic theme. Someone else... please be my guest, and let me know how i goes. I can't reproduce the problem using any of the Luna themes, or other custom themes. And the 3rd-party MMD3 skin is old, buggy and not supported (if the bug doesn't exist with the default Winamp Modern or Classic skins, then it's not our bug, and we don't wanna know).

Please also confirm that it happens with a clean install of 5.22 and no 3rd-party plugins.

#1 is a feature, not a bug, and like you said, you got it fixed by changing a setting or two.

#2 can't be reproduced either.
Were you using the unsupported 3rd-party ml_ipod plugin maybe?
Are there any other external ipod utilities running concurrently (itunes, ephod, etc)?

OdessaCubbage 28th May 2006 21:00

#1 - what's so bad about the Windows Classic theme? It saves RAM

#2 - I didn't know that the MMD3 skin was old and buggy or anything, but OK, if that's what's causing the problem

#3 - I was not using ml_ipod or anything. I do not have any other iPod applications installed on my computer. Also, I have confirmed that my problem is NOT an isolated incident, as my thread about this problem on this forum resulted in another user posting that he/she had experienced the exact same difficulty with Winamp 5.22.

DJ Egg 28th May 2006 22:55

#1 - It reminds me of Win9x (hate!), and I've got 1GB RAM

#2 - So it only happens with MMD3 then, and not the default modern or classic skins?

#3 - Hmm, strange. ml_pmp/pmp_ipod works fine for the vast majority of users. I haven't seen your other thread, and I don't personally deal with pmp bugs (that's Will's department), but I assume that you supplied all the required info/detals in your report, including iPod model & firmware version, etc?
Was the other user you referred to also using Win XP MCE?

ps. good luck

OdessaCubbage 28th May 2006 23:52

#1 - I've got 1 GB ram too, but why should I waste it when I don't really care about aesthetics?

#2 - I haven't tried it with the other skins, and honestly, I don't care if it works with the other skins, because I have no intention of using them anyway

By the way, here's the lnk to my other thread:
http://forums.winamp.com/showthread.php?threadid=247178

If someone can help me with that, I will add all the other info I need. Also, I have the newest firmware.
