MP3 playback problem

Hi,

I have been using Winamp for years to play my mp3s. Recently i have a problem when playing my mp3.

I have just bought a new PC and installed winamp. However when trying to play certain mp3, it wont play. But, when i try playing with WMP, it played after it downloaded some codec.

I have tried installing some plugins, but i cant search for the right one. Help anyone?..

Thanks

if it played after downloading a codec... then it isn't an mp3.

possibly an wma file?

make sure you installed the winamp full version. it should allow you to play wma files.

Yea i just installed winamp 5.22 full.. But it can't be played in winamp.

and the file i want to play is in MP3 extension. i think so WMP installed this codec Fraunhofer decoder or something like that...

what if the file i was playing is some eastern character format thingy .. could it be possible this might affect the mp3 playback?
