Progress Slider Bar doesn't Appear

Hi, I've spent a couple of hours searching the forums and can't the problem I'm having. With some songs I play, the progress slider bar does not appear. I am wondering why this happens and I can fix it please.

What file format are these "songs"?
The seekbar doesn't appear if the song isn't seekable.
Some wma/wmv/asf files are encoded as unseekable
(you'll see "is_seekable=false" in winamp file info / alt+3 for those wma files).

It may also be the case for some other formats, but none that I know of personally, unless the files are being streamed, and aren't on the local hard drive (in which case it depends on server/network configuration).

Are you changing the skins as well? Some skins don't include the seeking bar for cosmetic reasons.

Thanks for your replies. The file format is mp3 and I'm not using any skins. I guess they must be unseekable. The songs are on my hard drive too, they're not being streamed.

Can you copy & paste what it says under "MPEG Info" in Winamp's File Info box (alt+3) for one of these mp3's? (Size, Header, Length, etc).

If the files are vbr (as opposed to cbr) then you might be able to fix them with VBRFix

Size: 8951284 bytes
Header found at: 143 bytes
Length: 280 seconds
MPEG 1.0 layer 3
256kbit, 10719 frames
44100Hz Joint Stereo
CRCs: No
Copyrighted: No
Original: Yes
Emphasis: None

Hmm, strange. It says it's just a standard 256kbps cbr mp3 (length = 4:40)

Either the file is corrupted in some way, or maybe you're using some buggy 3rd-party mp3 plguin for Winamp (eg. in_mp3pro or in_mad, etc).

Confirm a clean install of Winamp 5.22 with no 3rd-party plugins (include my_plugins_list.txt)

Other than that, I really aren't sure what's causing the problem...

Thanks dude, I did a fresh install of 5.22 and the problems gone! Thanks a lot.

Suff.
