Auto Specify EQ settings by genre
 

Does anyone know if you can have Winamp automatically select the equalizer settings for each song based on its genre?

Nah, you can't. It can be done per song, but not per genre.

Is there a plugin that can add this functionality?

To quote one of drewbar’s favorite words...

You are not the first Winamper to request auto presets based on metadata (genre, comments, etc.) instead of file name. It would be an nice addition to Winamp. Hopefully, there is someone out there who would like to make a plug-in for that.

If I put that on the wishlist, do you think it would be added to Winamp any time soon?

You can post it in the Wishlist forum, but that is no guarantee that it will be implemented soon (or ever, for that matter). The Wishlist is just a list of requested features.
