The Hardware Graveyard (Memorials):

21 June 2006
Farewell to my 240GB external HD (Freecom), which had its last byte to eat this morning. Thankfully I got everything off before the final moment (YOU LAME ASS MOTHERFUCKER!!!!!!!).

10 June 2006
Goodbye, my laptop (Sony Viao), which was knocked off the coffee table (just after the England match) and fell 60cm to it's death. 60 FUCKING CM'S!!!!!!!

12 May 2006
And not forgetting my 160GB external HD (Freecom), which befell exactly the same fate as the 240GB.

Makes note not to buy any Freecom or Sony computer products in the future. :(

As a small consolation, I saved my desktop by removing a piece of rubber that was wedged in the processor fan. :)

Aw man, now you've brought up memories of my ancient tower with a 12MHz Intel processor and Windows 3.1. That old hunk of junk was the family's pride and joy, as well as our only PC up until '99. It had one of those 5" floppy drives (as well as a 3"er), and the case had a "Turbo" button that upped the CPU to a blazingly fast 16MHz.

I remember playing the orginal Sim City on that machine, and accessing the internet through Prodigy (until we upgraded to AOL 1.5); those were the glory days. I betcha the old rustbox would still be running to this day had I not have been dumb enough to take it apart five years ago just to see what was inside. Now its parts are scattered around the house. :(

Rest in peace, you dumb piece of shit.

...at least until I can put you back together. :blah:
