that is cool, when is it released?
|
Would get old quickly, but yes its neat, would be fun to play around with.
|
I thought the whole point of a computer is that it isn't messy?

I think it looks great. It's obviously got too many features because it's a proof of concept, but it could be very cool if taken further. |
What is Vista's 3D desktop going to look like? Is it going to be anything like this?
|
It's just 3D-accelerated, like the OSX one. Better effects and so on. There's a 3D app switcher though.
WPF, the new desktop API thing, can intermix 3D and 2D elements, so I suppose it'd be possible to make something like this with it? |
Neat, but I'd have little use for it.

I think it's cool, but it's still kind of a gimmick. I can't see that thing ever saving me time. Here is an image of My desktop with Winamp.

This is kind of neat. I played around with it on a livecd earlier this year.
While it may not improve productivity, it certainly does look funky. |
oh yea, atmo. I've used that livecd. It was a lot of fun, although it sure did eat up resources.
|
is LiveCD anythign like the 3d desktop that lets you move windows around a "sphere"? I tried osmething like that, SphereXP or something if I remember correctly, and I didn't like it much. It was fun for about 30 seconds, but after I started winamp, it got messed up because I had always on top enabled.

But I like having a 2D desktop. It's the reason my stuff isn't piled into useless messes like my real room.
